Songs for Silverman tracklist, release date, and more!

26/January/2005 - 9:34

Billboard.com ran an article late yesterday about Ben's new album "Songs for Silverman", which, amongst other things, gave us a track list!

Bastard (aka "Young Bastard")
You To Thank
Jesusland
Landed
Gracie
Trusted
Give Judy My Notice
Late
Sentimental Guy
Time
Prison Food

It was recorded with Ben's touring bassist and drummer - Jared Reynolds and Lindsay Jamieson (who also played on some of the EP tracks) - in the studio in Nashville, apart from "Gracie" and "Sentimental Guy" which are Folds' solo songs supposedly recorded at his home in Adelaide.

The article also gives us a US release date of April 26th, and clears up the half-info about "Landed"'s release date - it's going out *to radio* on the 1st of Feb, with no word of an actual CD release. However, with over two-and-a-half months' gap between radio release and the album coming out, it'd be daft for there to be no single available in the mean time.

There's also a few song explanations from Folds himself thrown in for good measure, such as Landed:

"It's about a close friend of mine who's recovering from being under the influence of a crazy girlfriend," says Folds. "I had this mental image of him flying back to reality, landing at the airport and needing a ride back to the life he left behind."

You can check out the online article here, or the full-blown unedited version on the boards.

Thanks to all who posted and emailed!
