Songs for Silverman sells splendidly.
18/April/2005 - 10:00
It may be another week before we get to see Songs for Silverman in the UK or USA, but round the other side of the planet sales are healthy for the Australian (11th) and Japanese (14th) releases.
Firstly, the album has debuted at number 9 in the official Australian charts compiled by the Australian Record Industry Association (ARIA), beating Australia's own Natalie Imbruglia for first-week sales.
In Japan, the album seems to be doing even better, currently riding at number 3 in Tower Records' weekly chart (the closest thing to an official chart I could find).
I sincerely doubt that the album will enjoy such a significant splash with us when it hits shelves next week, but who knows! Get those preorders made, people!
