Ben premieres new songs!

5/April/2004 - 14:55

As you're all probably well aware, Ben started college tour over in the US a couple of days ago and, as always, he has not disappointed.

The biggest news, of course, is the premiere of several new songs, including the elusive "Breakup at Food Court" - a title batted around since the days of "The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner" (1999), but never performed or recorded.

Another new song, "Late" (aka 'Too Late'), includes a tribute to the late Elliott Smith, the singer/songwriter who tragically committed suicide last October.

Ben has also resurrected an old cover, "Champagne Supernova" by Oasis (previously covered by Ben Folds Five and appearing as a B-Side on 'Battle of Who Could Care Less'), and has reverted to "Song for the Dumped" in it's traditional major key.

A lot of details are still a bit sketchy at this early stage, but keep on eye out here and on the boards for more info, reviews, setlists (and, dare I say it, a bootleg?) as and when they become available.
