Hey all.
I know there are people here who went to the show at Northwestern Illinois university. If you'd like to hear what ben didn't play that night, but did play during his soundcheck, check this shiznit out.

our very own Leia recorded as well. rock out.

the set includes some stuff like champagne supernova, redneck past, say yes and a few other gems.
check this out!

and by the way, it is in .shn format. please read the information about the .shn format before downloading. i've got more than enough bandwith for all your friends to come download it too. tell everyone about it!

you're welcome  ;)

I was standing backstage and recording that. fun stuff!

at some point you can hear the guy say, "miss are you supposed to be here?!" and the recording cuts off a bit- hehe.

good times.

Love,
Leia

Ooooo, soundcheck!

I've often wondered if he's as much of an assh*le as I am during soundcheck. :-)

That's the recording cutting off? I always thought it was a punching noise:

"miss, are you supposed to be here?!"
Ka-SMACK!

~A, who knows that Leia isn't that agressive, so it's probably just the sound of cholophorm being applied.

Well, if I was a sound engineer I'd love the private concert.

In fact, I'd just move dials that didn't do anything, and tell ben to keep playing.

The thing about it is, you can pretty much tell that the point of Ben's soundcheck's by listening to this is warming up and fiddling around with arrangements while on the road. Hence the Redneck Past clip.

I can hear the beginings of "Give The People What They Want" from back in Novermber too.

I just listened to this at work yesterday (having burned it this past weekend after rediscovering it stranded on my hard drive from one of those lost nights of nonstop downloading weeks ago).

It's really a cool departure from the standard boot. No screaming crowds. Just Ben amusing himself. Singing lazily. Riffing on a tangent. With no one to impress. I like it a lot.

Thanks, L and L.

the musical was a group of guys from australia who had a lot of free time on their hands.   it is still on my site, along with a couple other bootlegs.   you should check'em out.  its quite funny.  very clever as to how they did everything.
