I went because you said you'd be there

Weird - If I had to guess, I'd have said that this was the Hornby one. Some weird phrasing and unusual pacing that was most evident during my first few listens of Lonely Avenue before the jelled. Maybe Ben wrote the words to the before the music for a change.

Any writing about real, famous people that exist. What's up with that? Wink

I think this piano solo is going to grow on me. I don't dislike it now, but I think it's going to be one of those songs where I subconsciously wait for the solo. Like Mess.

I love this one, especially the chorus. I dunno what it is, but I really like it.

I gotta be honest.. The lyrics on this song may be the best I've heard from the album so far.. The symbolism and word play reminds me very much of the old Ben Folds Five.  Ben's newer writing has been much more blunt overall with less depth (Erase Me).  Not that it's a bad thing, but just different.

So far, every song has been great.  This album is very impressive already.  Can't wait for tomorrow!

Not loving this one. The album's first 'skipper' for me.

I can forgive one or two. Smiley

Another thing I really like about the song is how the song and vocal style are similar to a Frank Sinatra song but not quite there.  Really fits the song well since its all about Frank's shadow being lost in his own life.
