Haven't seen this posted anywhere else yet, but Ben Folds did a brief performance at the 2010 Webby Awards:

Of course they would use Brick while he walked on.

I hope Ben was kidding about not knowing who Jason Bateman is...really, Ben? Someone needs to get the man Arrested Development DVDs. Hell, it's even streaming on Netflix.

Ahh, I think he's referring to the fact that they used it because it's the one song the general public may know Ben for, no matter how inapproppriate it is.

I remember Rockin the Suburbs got a decent amount of play, but yeah, Brick is the obvious one.

That's great. I'm glad Ben's doing more stuff like this.
dont overplay, keep it simple and in the pocket, support the song, and you will be asked to play more than you have time to. - Chuck Folds

clearly. i just think there's just something kinda funny about it. though kiddies that i'm meeting nowadays are more likely to know rts than brick. 96 and 01 are apparently far away enough from each other.

I'm only 19 years old and thankfully I knew Brick long before RTS.  WAEA was my first Ben CD and I wouldn't have had it any other way.  But after years of listening to them I'm thoroughly tired of hearing both haha.

I hate to admit that I only paid attention to the singles until someone pushed me to get more involved around 2005. I'm 25 and old enough to remember both Brick and RTS getting good airplay. And I heard the intro to Landed on a dog show montage in 2006 perhaps 2007 (don't know why I was watching it). In that case, The Webbys could have used about anything. However, I feel that kiddies are probably more likely to know RTS over Brick because of its Over the Hedge reincarnation.

They should have played Landed. Landed has a beast intro and it's pretty well-known; they played it at an arcade place when I went there. Coolest Ben-Folds-in-public-places moment of my life.
And the interview: I kind-of wanted him to finish talking about the couch...
I like photography, piano, and math. That's all you really need to know to know me.
