Oh, it's kind of long and complicated.
In chronological order:
Ben's first appearance (himself, not through Jared) here: http://www.thesuburbs.org.uk/news/Runaway_vs_Normal_Guy_Ben_Gives_Up_All_the_Answers/
Number 2: http://www.thesuburbs.org.uk/news/Return_of_Ben_with_Caps_and_Vague_Information_Ovation_TV_things_too/
The .org post: http://www.thesuburbs.org.uk/news/I_m_Getting_A_Work_Out_Updating_This_Thing/
and you're in the last thread Ben started.
But, he's been back since: Check all 6 posts here: http://www.thesuburbs.org.uk/Board/index.php?action=profile;u=2267;sa=showPosts
Crazy stuff. I still feel like I missed Ben's original post on the org (it does say he posted there twice), and Ill's thread seemed to stem out of some earlier exchange.
It's still so bizarre to me how this all panned out. I understand what DrewMG said, that the org metamorphosed differently from this site. The timing of it all just caught me off guard...when I stopped posting on the org, everyone was still lovin' Ben, and there was a reasonably tight, albeit online, community. As life caught up with me, I left and didnt visit any Ben sites for years. Later, with WtN on the horizons, I returned to the org to catch up on the excitement (I was remembering all the giddy anticipation of RTS leading up to that release, and sort of wanted to re-live it). It's kinda like going back to your hometown and seeing the same people and places, but your rosey memories of it are replaced with bickering, sarcasm, jaded-ness, etc.
In fact, that's pretty much why I registered here-not because I have some burning desire to talk about Ben 24/7 (when I registered for the org originally I think I was 14, so understandably back then I probably had a lot more time and energy for that, haha!), but because I wanted to see again an online community that sort of reminded me of what the org used to be.
Holy shit, I'm cheesing out sentimental shit about web message boards...f*ck
