It definitely isn't E7/C in the verse, can't have a G# in there.  I'm guessing you meant Em7/C, but then you might as well write Cmaj9.
Currently writing my first album....hopefully will record it soon.

yeah, i'm not good at chord names, Cmaj9 makes sense. I did mean Em7/C, so you're right.

EWW major 7ths.... terrible sounding. But not if used correctly.

Did you seriously just say major 7ths sound bad? They are some of the best chords out there. Any band that makes decent use of them earns a billion cool points in my book... in fact, bands that never use them almost never elicit multiple listens from me. They are a major part of Folds' appeal. Of course, they have to be used "correctly", but that's true of every chord.

Well a maj7 by itself just sounds bad, but not if used right in a song. that's just what i meant.

i like that ben uses them well too, that's the thing that drew me too his music is his incorporation of rock, punk, and jazz.

Hmm.....I think maj7 chords sound quite pleasant....

I'm a big fan of the 13#11 chord though, it sounds crazy and awesome.  Maybe Ben will use one of those someday. :-P

But that's just a triad...I hate the way things are written to confuse.
