reiholdmesser, so sorry you didnt get a photo, you should have run, if i had not shouted out to ben you would not have even got to chat. yes i can confim jamie cullum was there, he seemed a little dazed and certainally sounded in awe of ben. classic show, the guys looked like they were loving performing which makes it so much more pleasurable to watch.

yeah, thats right, bowery ballrom. he also did live That night "The secret life of morgan davis" the show is well worth the download!! Grin

so far, 2 shows down and both were outstanding in different ways. Ben messing up in Boxing? explain more! lol. At brum he forgot the opening lines to kate and me and some guy had to shout them (along with a few others!) and then he goes "aahh thats it, right then" and im pretty sure he tried an impression of matt lucus before jesusland "yeah i know!" which jared found rather amuzing

Hey kids, just got back to York from London. Frickin' great gig - very much 'Power Ben' if you get my drift, really powering through songs.. in a good way. Smiley

Very little adlibbing (different to my other Ben experience in Sheffield) but realy really good renditions of some kick ass songs. Gone as always sounded amazing, Narcolepsy was just an astonishing wall of sound, Summer B.? was as summery as ever (I just realised that was an awful pun and I'm sorry) and it was great to see Last Polka done live!

Cool little bit - Introducing Boxing, he told the story of how he'd been paid to write some songs so he just took the opportunity to write what he wanted ("though it didn't really turn out like that" - I dunno what he meant by that!); Boxing for his father included - "and it goes like this ...[starts to play]... f*ck it dosn't go like that!" Heehee.

Jared was as amazingly wonderful as he always is, and Lindsay made me laugh throughout with some amazingly bizarre facial expressions! He looked like he was having loads of fun and didn't seem to be suffering too much!

I was about four 'rows' from the front, right at the left hand side from our point of view and generally could see pretty much everything that was going on, so yay! Really wanted to meet Ben and the guys, but I was staying with a friend and didn't like to impose on him when he'd already been so generous letting me and someone he's never met before stay at his place! Next time, next time.

All in all, great night, shame the setlist wasn't a whole lot shaken up from the main tour but I still had a wicked time.

And then we all to bed.

Yep, he did an Andy impression. I can't remember if it was a good impression, but this is Ben Folds we're talking about, practically God on Earth, so it was more accurate than even Matt Lucas' himself!!!

Not the best picture in the world, but gives you a sense of where I was in case you were near me!

Better ones to come at weekend, and also I have loads of videos on my phone, and while I can send them to my gmail, and therefore potentially to you all, they're in a very weird format (its file name comes up as Clip(19).3gp) and obviously I have no idea how to play or share something in .3gp format!! Help anyone?!!

I think 3gp actually plays in quicktime. I tried it earlier and it worked with something, but I could be wrong.

That's not me by the way.

Had an amusing time getting the MD recorder in:
Security man checks my pockets: "What's that?"
Me: "A Walkman"
Security: "Okay"

Cheesy

Anyone care to grab that bootleg and send me one of the tracks or some sample and I'll see how it compares  to mine?

I used to be a member of dimeadozen and I think I may have been deleted for inactivity. Darn it! Hopefully these bootlegs will be sounding good!

All ben's shows are great but it is a shame that the band haven't varied the set more since the summer. The only additions to the repertoire (as a band) were The Ascent of Stan, Narcolepsy and Not The Same. To me there are many glaring omissions such as Fired, Underground, Don't Change Your Plans, Rockstar, Learn To Live with You Are  - and lots more. All these would work brilliantly live. I know they can't play everything but having been on the road together so long you'd have thought they'd have learnt more than just three new songs since the summer.

Don't get me wrong though. The concert was still superb.

Thanks man but its all going a bit pear shaped... the vids on my phone are too big to send 'as picture message', which is guaranteed to work everytime, so I'm having to try and send them 'as email' which has so far worked 0% of the time. I really suck. They're quite rubbish anyway...
And huge thanks for trying to help me out!!!
