Ben's Conan performance
« on: April 27, 2005, 11:12:51 AM »
So what did you guys think?  I thought he seemed pretty nervous, but the string section was a nice touch.  The bit during the credits was the best, though.  I couldn't help but giggle (and agree) when Conan called Ben "pretty."

I didn't think that it was too good. He seemed really exhausted and the mixing of the audio(whatever you call it) wasn't very good.

I downloaded it online so I'll have to wait for the replay on cnbc tonight to check the whole thing out

Yeah, the mix was pretty shit.

He did look a little nervous at the beginning, but near the end he picked it up a bit. The strings were odd, but at least it made the performance different than the 50,000 other times he'll end up playing this song for promo appearances.

Jared and Lindsay on the other hand seemed calm as hell.

Question: why is it that ben has been cutting off the ending to the song in some of the live performances?

I can't seem to think of a good reason he'd do it.

I thought it was a pretty subpar performance.

It may have been subpar, but the crowd definitely seemed pleased.  CONAN even seemed pleased.  I've never heard him say 'that was killer' to a musical guest.  He usually just kind of goes 'great' real quick-like.

Remember: Subpar for Ben is still great!
