« on: July 02, 2003, 08:51:14 AM »
Robert Sledge and Snzz have teamed up with Django Haskins(guitar) and Chris Stevenson (drums) to form a new band called International Orange. Supposedly they've recorded 3 songs already at Bobby Patterson's (of DAG) home studio.

Django posted on the .org thread, here's what he had to say:

hey all, nice site. i am glad to see the word is out about the new band.

snuzzbff, you're right about the vocal duties - we generally sing lead on the ones that we wrote, with some trading off here and there. the songs we recorded at bobby's place were "prince charming" (robert's), "worst in you" (snuzz), and "afraid of love" (django), and i haven't heard the mixes yet, but they sounded really cool at the time.

in response to your question about our drummer, chris was in the two-dollar pistols (a chapel hill alt-country band) and the invisible hand (now defunct, but a band consisting of sledge, tom maxwell from the zippers, and chris).

we will have shows posted sometime soon, hopefully - there's no website yet, but in the meantime, i'll make sure they get posted on my site, djangohaskins.com. so far, we've got richmond, chapel hill, winston-salem, charlotte, and charleston shows booked, starting in mid-august. i'll try and put updates on the band at my site too til we have a band site up. thanks!

Thanks for the links.  Interesting developments indeed.

Looks like Prince Charming will finally see the light of day.  Isn't Emilia Bright Robert's too?

Nope it's Darren's and he's been known to play it at his gigs.

I was interested to hear that Darren has written quite afew songs. One thing, did he co-write brick? And if so, exactly how much?

The chorus is Darren's:

She's a brick, and I'm drowning slowly
Off the coast and I'm headed nowhere

and the rest is Ben's.

Ditto the chorus to Wandering, the bit that we have all heard so far.

The rest, yet to see the light, is Bens...but it wont be a mystery for much longer!
