Nice! Hadn't paid much attention to the strings before. Thanks for bringing them out!

NOTE: Go for the latest stable version of Audacity (1.2.6) and NOT the Beta version (1.3.7) as the beta version seems to crash when I load more than 6 tracks at once.
Do you want me to screen grab all the GarageBand ones so you can set your pan and volume properly?

Stuff it, I've done it anyway.

Try here (4.7Mb)

It's just basically screen shots so you can set your generic program up the same way it is in GarageBand. If I can provide any other info, let me know.

(Screenshots are probably copyright Apple Inc. GarageBand is probably a trademark of Apple Inc. A lawyer could probably think of an inventive way of claiming that seeing the soundwave on screen is Ben's copyright.)

took FC down for 2 secs. for some reason the bass was mixed leaning into the right channel.

Here's Kylie. Actually pretty proud of this one: http://acelze.googlepages.com/ACKFC.mp3

LOVE the strings at the beginning.  Great job.

For immediate fun, drag them all in to a project, press play, then use the 'solo' and 'mute' buttons on the far left of any individual track to see how it was all recorded and layered.

Hope that helps some folks!

Playing with these stems is amazingly fun! Yeah I pulled the distorted piano out of Free Coffee and am having a blast with this! VERY VERY VERY COOL!!!!!!!

I've been f*cking around with the stems of the sessions and doing my own little tweaks.
First little project was Free Coffee. I took the distortion off the piano and cleaned it all up a little, adding a few small things to make it a bit more interesting.

Free Coffee (Remix): http://acelze.googlepages.com/ACFC.mp3

I'll work on the other songs when I find the time. If there's anything that sticks out about the original recordings that you really want to change or just get rid of, let me know and I'll put my spin on it.

ha, that FC one is pretty cool sounding. music at the beginning sounds like it should be in a children's variety show, but the lyrics don't match haha.

I'll second that comment! I think I've spent 4 hours today playing with Free Coffee. None have that studio distorted piano (Piano 1) in the...what do you call them 'Stems'? Yeah I just keep (Piano 1) muted the whole time. 'Piano 2 Clear' and 'Piano 2 Distorted' are where it's at...Yeah just dump Piano 1.

My version of "Errant Dog"
http://sites.google.com/site/terp02/Home/ErrantDog(Terpremix).mp3
ooh cool! i love the drums and tambo!

Uploaded to wokeup!

I listened all the way through waiting for the tambo and was left wanting... then I swapped my headphones over and realised that my right-side hearing loss is the exact frequencies of the tambourine. I'll have to get it on the speakers later.

Right, I'm going to have to go home early tonight - I feel like I'm missing out as I haven't had a chance to play yet!!

Seriously, thanks for the tips all.  I was going to post this morning and ask how to play with these without having a Mac, but thesuburbs was already there for me...!  :-*
