I play a pretty good piano, and a mean cello, if I can get my hand on one.  I'm in the process of learning acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and even drums.

OK, I admit it.

I paly piano and violin. I can work my way round a bass, and should hopefully become half decent when I get around to buying one.

I always wanted to play on a drum kit too. Shame I neither own nor have access to one.

A good idea...

My sister is learning drums (on a kit at her school) but own 2 sets of drum sticks. As bruises will tell you, real wooden drum sticks, "Rockin' the Suburbs", and snare-substitute thigh muscles are not a good combination.

i play piano pretty well. also, i can play about 3 chords on my acoustic guitar with only five strings ( on is broken). i have played (or at least attempted) all the songs in the WAEA songbook, so i think im doin OK.

as far as writing goes, iv come across some good ideas but no complete songs yet.

Sorry to be so late on replying to this thread.  Good news for me, after three years of playing by ear, I get my first piano lesson tomorrow (I'm pretty nervous).  Anyway, wish me luck!

I have written some "songs" none I would be proud of or would take seriously.  With that said some of my Mp3's might make you laugh a bit if you manage to dowlnload them from my PC with Audiogalaxy.  Everything is under the directory "Original" and includes the
name "Hazen", "Armendariz", "Thomas", or a combination of those three.  While I write all of our pieces of junk, I depend on my two buddies, Armendariz and Thomas, to give me guitar noise.

So how many of you have a little home studio and what is it like?  I have $20 music editing software, a $40 mic, and some freeware for converting wav's to Mp3's.

Audiogalaxy has an option to create Audio communities where members can send MP3's to other members of the group.  Why don't we set one up?

I have a "studio" in my room. It's not reallly a studio. It's just that I record things in here because I have all the instruments I need basically in here. I have a drumset, a guitar, two synthesizers, two basses, a keyboard, a few percussion things in here. I record with Sound Forge 5.0 and Cool Edit Pro.

:o  That's a really sweet room you've got there, plus really cool software to edit with.  You're one lucky guy!

Thanks. I unfortunately don't get to use my room as a studio too frequently though.

I play drums, guitar, flute and voice.  These are things I claim to play.  I am a music major studying jazz and arts administration.  Of course I took six years of piano, and you guys may have heard my recording of Smoke on which I play a Papoose and accordian.  The bass is probably my favorite instrument though, and I am going to buy one this month and finally learn.  I am 22, live in Baltimore and want to start a BFF cover band.  Get in touch if you would like to join!!!

What's a papoose?  I have an accordian also.  I can envision Ben playing this instrument.  Barenaked Ladies use it quite a bit, actually, and I really admire a good accordian player.  You any good?

Accordion? Cool! I want to play that. Any advice on how/where to find one (for less than a very expensive price) and what gives the instrument its quality?
