The pillow thing is really cool...
I wonder, did they actually sell those pillows? Because, they'd be relatively easy to make...
But, I got my "Kiss My Ass" shirt today in the mail. Yay, to the guy on ebay from Baton Rouge, LA.

General Board / Re: Going to any Ben Folds performances soon?

I think it'd be hilarious to do a "Ben Folds Tour of America".  Spend some time in Nashville, some time in Winston-Salem, some time in Chapel Hill. And really, if Ben, Jared, and Linz all live within four blocks of each other/the studio. It should be a grand ol' time.
That and when in NC we could track ourselves over to a Hotel Lights show, I'm sure.

Ben's Old Five / Re: BF5 'Freaking Out' DVD!?

that's just Ben...

and the Animal House reference was A+++.
Amen. And that's why we love Ben. From what I hear, not being around during the Five days, many a BF5 shows were crazy like this. I wish Ben'd walk around in the crowds now.
Or, even, play Steven's Last Night. That'd be enough for me..... for now.

I saw him on the 27th. And I'm pretty much sure I'm going to go through withdrawl.
I did 7 shows in 11 months, and if there's not going to be any more tour dates added for 2006, well, sadness. A nine month draught? I'm sad. though, if Jared's right, it means they're going to the studio. And I'm a-okay with that.

General Board / Re: Have ya heard the song "tiny dancer"?
« on: June 08, 2006, 01:20:26 PM »
If you like "Tiny Dancer", it's off the Ben Folds Live album (look around, you should be able to get a copy with a DVD if you're lucky).

I totally found a might as well be new one at a resale shop for 3.58 last week. I thought I'd never find one with the DVD. But, it just goes to show.

And, I appologize in advance if any of you all on this thread happen to be what I'm sharing, but this must be said. I was at a show this past March and there was a girl who kept screaming for Tiny Dancer the entire show, and this was a full 26 song gig, and then when Ben opened it up for questions (I dunno why, but he asked for questions) this girl is crying for Tiny Dancer, and so Ben made up some stuff about the song and then broke into something else. It made me laugh, but it also made me want to tell the girl to go to an Elton concert if she wanted to see that song done. I kind of get the feeling that Ben picks a song to cover each year. Because lets think about it. The Five did Ultimate Sacrifice, She Don't Use Jelly, and Champagne Supernova, then Ben's done Tiny Dancer, obviously, Careless Whisper and Bitches Ain't Shit.  I think they kind of just come and go, and once they leave the set list they're gone. Only to be replaced by something else.

Tour Board / Re: Correct me if I am wrong...

Um, for an 8 o'clock start, I typically get there at noon. But other people (but this in the midwest) don't show up til 1 or so.
Depends. I showed up to my 5 o'clocker two Saturdays ago at 10:30 AM. Ben hadn't even played at Northwestern yet. I'm a bit crazy.
Bring things to do. And food.
You're show isn't general admission, though is it? That's why I stake out so long....because I want the best seat I can get. And I get it! Because BenDays are all day excursions, for me anyways.
If you live in the area, see if you can check out the venue in advance. To scope out all of the places he may or may not come in through.

Yeah, that VIP stuff is total BS. I've never had VIP status and I've met him four times.

Won't dismiss you, probably be more shocked. But I'm a pro at staking out. I wait out for 6 or so hours. Check out the venue, find the stage door entrance, and watch for a van (probably, because it's not a regular tour date) in contrast to a tour bus. Of course he's not going to use the front door... so, be sneaky. Ben loves fans, mainly because he seems to be confused, almost, that we're crazy about him. Meh.

Three hours actually, may be to late. On shows, during this last tour, where he'd start at 8, he was sound checking at 1 or 2. And then back in the hotel (or bumming around town) until the opener'd come on. Hope you catch him!

I always thought it was
"having isn't bliss
Sunshine is amiss"

Just for my two cents.

Happy when you're stoned.

Gas and Mr. Folds

So you make just enough to pay, to drive your car to work each day.

If I had to drive to work. But being a college student, it's driving to home and back each month.
And Ben has this nasty (but wonderful) habit of having shows when I'm on break in my area. It's ridiculous.

Just like to point out that I've-- based on the first couple chords-- written down Ascent of Stan on a set list to, in just a few seconds time cross it out to rewrite Jesusland there instead, but it's never happened to me the other way round.

I'll either get the fire of antlers shirts.
I already have both of those.
And the red track jacket.
And um. Yeah. I really just need to sign my paychecks over to Ben. Gas and Mr. Folds. That's where all my money goes. Damn it.

Ah yes, I read this.

So long as Ben isn't a lier. And whatever this new CD'd be, is a lot closer to SfS than RtS and SfS are. Which is yay for me.

And Jared helped fuel this rumor. Because on Saturday when someone asked him when they'd be back up in the area, he said he didn't know because what's on the site is what they're doing for the rest of the year, and that they hoped to be in the studio in the fall. Oh yes!

I had to go with Still Reprise. It kinda wiggs me out though, that I've seen him preform it. Go me, haha. You can tell that this song is the song he spent the most time on.

As for the continuity of the album, they really tell the story of the movie. Movies really cute, and so sometimes the album is just really cute. RtS and Lost in the Supermarket are just credits tracks. And the Reprise of Still doesn't even make the movie.

But, I'll admit, I woke up singing Heist a couple days back. Had no idea where that came from.
