The Weakerthans put on one hell of a show last night! Woot woot! Although NOBODY was there. Probably 40-50 people at best. Asked John to play a Springsteen song because it was Springsteen Friday, but he didn't. Oh well. Jason Collett did which was nice.

Also, working out on a 100degree day is NOT as fun as it sounds. I think I might pass out.

So I just got back from the library and I'm stoked. I got About a Boy, How to Be Good, and Songbook.

How to Be Good is alright. It's a little weird in some parts--actually a lot of parts. And I think it was Hornby's first time writing first person from a female's perspective. But I thought it had a nice meaning, and I enjoyed it. I LOLed a lot :)

I don't think you guys understand how awesome High Fidelity is as a movie.

I may be crazy, but it's literally one of the only movies I can turn on at any point sit down and watch.

Same with Grosse Point Blank.

What? Of course I love the High Fidelity movie! I thought they did a wonderful job with it. When I heard it was going to be set in the US, rather than England, I was a little mad because I thought that it was so obviously a British setting in the book. But Chicago worked nicely as the town, and John Cusack MADE that film. He was perfect for the main character. I'm just saying that the book was better. But the movie is incredible, no doubt.

And I agree with Grosse Point Blank. I just love Cusack!

Haha. Awesome band

So I'm gonna brag that I've finished two books in two days. Never done that before. Not even close
They were the first Nick Hornby books I've read and boy is he good. I read A Long Way Down and Slam. A Long Way Down was definitely the better of the two but they're both great.

I recently did something similar.  I read A Long Way Down nearly in one day, and then read About A Boy the next two days.  So.... about three days.  Slam is good too, but A Long Way Down is definitely better.  High Fidelity is also fantastic.

Read High Fidelity, it's better than the movie, and the movie was pretty good. Same with About a Boy--loved both the movie and the book. Read the books first though.
I read A Long Way Down in one day too. I love that book. Haven't read Slam yet, but I have it. Read Hornby's songbook too. He just writes about his favorite songs and 'Smoke' is one of them!

Okay, file is uploaded to WUWtL in the Ben Folds Five Tracks folder, under the sub folder "radio edits." You'll also find the BoWCCL edit I uploaded last year there. Any other radio edits you need? I've got 'em all.

thank you! yeah, i got the BOWCCL awhile ago and played it. is there a summer b. one? because that would be the best.
