Seriously, do you think RTB will ever die?

1 Adelaide (has he ever played this live? I seriously don't know...)

He did it with the Sydney Symphony at the show I was at. Was amazing, it's a great and really underrated song.

Anyone else think Missy Higgins totally rocked You Don't Know Me?

Missy Higgins was incredible in you don't know me.  She did a much better job live than Regina Spektor did on Conan, I think.

Except for her little Ashley-Simpson-caught-lip-syncing-on-SNL dance, I agree.
I love her dance.

Missy did an incredible job, I love the way Ben rocks out during performances.
He really seems to have a lot of fun playing YDKM.

Did anyone know about this? I just saw this posted in another forum. The gal who posted it also put in her choice of song she thought Ben should do:

Quote
On October 20 Ben and several others are doing a Goodbye Yellow Brick Road 30th Anniversary concert in NYC to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

I hope Ben does This Song Has No Title. It seems to be the track best suited for his talents.

No way, Bennie and the Jets! It would totally rock with Ben's falsetto and genuine piano chops.

the thing about evaporated is that it's incredibly easy, but it took me having to see Ben live to figure out that you have to cross your left hand over your right to play the first four notes of that high motif (the one before "don't you know i'm numb?" and at the end). My right hand was doing some tricky acrobatics to make it work before that.

I do the crossover thing. I reckon it's easier.

So does Ben, but it's impossible to replicate the recording perfectly as, with most songs on WAEA, the piano was multitracked.

Well said Damian. I'd also like to add that I think people are tending to miss some of the irony in the song aswell; to attack someone for attacking you through song - through song. A big part of the song is the immaturity of the narrator and the feud itself. To translate everything in Ben's songs into real life is pretty absurd, even when he is writing from experience. Just my thoughts.

1.)Exceeded.
2.)Real
3.)One
4.)Free Coffee
5.)Brainwascht
6.)Five

Damn that was hard. I'm really impressed with the album so far, I think of Ben's solo efforts it's the most consistently tuneful. As for its enduring quality I guess only time will tell. It was really hard to pick a favourite, I think You Don't Know Me, Cologne, Errant Dog, Bitch Went Nuts and Effington are all really great songs, but in the end I had to go for Brainwascht, it's been in my head since I first saw it on Youtube.

I'm really impressed with Ben playing entirely new material for his main set, it takes a lot of balls and I think shows a lot of integrity.
