So who's going to this show with me? It's my 73rd show, my sister's first (this is her birthday gift), and my very first time seeing the guys on the West Coast. I'd love to know if any Burbians are headed that way, and if so, what time you plan to be there!

I get all of that, Allison – trust me. But I think you missed my final thought in the original post: "It's okay to be a casual fan, too."
It's okay if some people prefer Sam's drumming to Darren. We know it's different, and we know why it's special. Some folks are shallow and don't get why Sledge brings something unique to his playing even if he doesn't have Ryan's amazing hair. It's okay if someone JUST discovered Folds and didn't get to see "Bitches" seven years ago. I mean, what if I bitched you out or just stood in front of you and made a bunch of snide remarks for wanting to hear "Sentimental Guy" in 2008 because I'd already seen it SO. MANY. TIMES. on the Silverman tour? It's all perspective. New fans deserve to enjoy the show, too.
They guys have sold millions of albums. They don't have to prove anything to a teeny bopper who is just going out to see that guy who sings that one song about "building houses and drowning, or whatever." (Yes, that's something I overheard once.)
I'm not saying don't be passionate – far from it – but maybe we as fans could stand to dial back the evangelizing and maybe just enjoy the shows n' music? There's no need to get all hipster-emo when someone dares to say their preferences are different from yours. I, for one, was greatly amused when Folds practically forced DJ to drum "Bitches," and it clearly made a lot of people in the crowd happy.

Not everyone knows the difference between BF5 and Folds solo career. Not everyone is as fanatical as us. We need to remember that and back off our ledge when someone dares to request a song we don't care for or feel is appropriate. I mean, maybe they hate your favorite song? Who knows? I say rather than trying to "educate" them or shun them for their request, enjoy the fact that their ticket purchase means we keep getting shows, and Folds and co. keep getting to make records for us.
It's okay to be a casual fan, too.

Mine's a first gen, straight from the label copy. Of course it's tucked away somewhere in Topeka, but there's a good chance it'll surface as I move to Chicago. I mean, I'm gonna have to go through that shed sometime.

Is it just me, or did all the "practice" the guys did the last four days leading up to this not pay off? The song felt a little flat. I blame a rental piano and weird audio mixing.
Same. Also feel like the drums need to drive that song and Darren played pretty tentatively. Well it was a poor setup. There's typically a shield helping keep some of the drums from bleeding too much on tv appearances like this, and there wasn't one here.
