his best known song is clearly "Video"

I thought it was Girl.

YES!  IT IS MOST DEFINITELY GIRL!  undisputed.

he told that story at a show i was at in either NC or VA.  good stuff.

I really liked the interview! It was sarcastic and irreverent and a lot of fun! Has Ben told the Indianapolis story before? Probably but it was new to me. I loved the overall laid-back atmosphere of the whole interview.

General Board / Re: Ben's Southern Accent?

I'm from the South, and I've tried my best not to obtain a Southern accent...but I'll defend the use of "y'all" until the day I die.

y'all is different to me.  i'm from louisiana and i don't have an accent persay.  more of a dialect, really.  i say y'all, i call carbonated beverages Cokes, etc.  those things will never change.

News / Re: Ben Folds at National Record Store Day in Columbus

he's apparently just actually working the register from 1-2:30. Someone else is performing at that same time.

Anyone else participating in NRSD? I'm hoping to hit up a few events before work.

ashton and i always try to honor NRSD by going to our only local record store dealer, the compact disc store.  i think i'm gonna buy The National's Alligator this year, if i can find it.

he did the Speed Graphic version of Judy?!?  God damn, Ben, save some of that for Chicago

when it comes to speedgraphic version of judy.... did it have the 'being loved by defualt' line in it?

hmmm... I referred to it as the "Speed Graphic" version because it was just him and the piano.  Are there different lyrics in the SFS version??  I should listen more closely.

yeah, there's differing lyrics on the two versions.  speed graphic has the lyric, "it's way too hard, being loved by default."  SFS is missing the lyric, which sucks.

i wholeheartedly agree with your sentiment of wanting to see The National really badly.  they're so freaking good.  MUST SEE!!

you should come down to NOLA to see of montreal.  i've got a good group going.  gonna party in the quarter beforehand.  oh, how i love kevin barnes.
speaking of, i saw James Husband (drummer for of Montreal) live a while back.  great show.  i recommend buying his solo record.
