the live show, four days later, which i was still kinda dumb - i know i sang the words along to one angry dwarf WAYYYY wrong. but yeah, hooked in that moment.
ahhh, this reminds me of the guy stood behind me at the Nottingham gig a couple of weeks back, who sang every word of Brick wrong. I'm not even sure he knew the song was called Brick!

Dunno if this has been done or not (it probably has), but how did you discover the delights of Mr Ben Folds? What was the track you heard that made you invesitgate further? Who introduced you to the music? Have you got a good story to tell? I was at university back in '97 when a friend told me to watch the video to Battle of Who Could Care Less, probably on MTV when it used to still play music videos. I was completely hooked and have been ever since

I've seen Ben in a number of UK cities now, and have to say he seems to absolutely love playing in Manchester more than anywhere else. He just seems to have a real connection with the crowd, more so than any of the other places I've seen him. Wonder if that's a conscious thing or not?

Great story! Seems that you've "trainered" your family well, and are "pumped" up for the gig! (Sorry!!)

In Nottingham, they played from 8 til 10 (on the dot), but I think this was because the venue turned into a club afterwards. I know that in Dublin it was a bit later, I think about 8.45 when they came on, but not sure when they finished. So I guess it depends on the venue itself. I'd get in touch with them and find out!

I didn't see anything out of the ordinary, other than standard tour t-shirts. Nothing that really tempted me anyway, but then everyone has different taste!

Maybe it was just luck of the draw! I don't ever recall hearing the album version live before

It just struck me that in all the times that I've watched Ben Folds (Five and solo), the piano solo at the end has always been the Misrilou version, EXCEPT on Saturday in Nottingham where he did the original album version. Can anyone else confirm this, or am I finally going mad?

Bit disappointed there was no One Angry Dwarf, and the banter was slightly lacking between Ben and the crowd, but they played A LOT of tunes, great value for money!
