Just went up today, a solo performance:  http://www.npr.org/2016/02/16/466945874/ben-folds-tiny-desk-concert?autoplay=true

"Phone In A Pool" (stops in the middle due to flubbed lyric)
"Not A Fan"
"Capable Of Anything" (false start)
"Emaline" (false start to tell a story about writing the song)
"One Angry Dwarf And 200 Solemn Faces"

Nice performances, but that camera work was really getting on my nerves.  I suspect the camera person had never heard the songs before, as they often would stop on performers, only to realize they weren't playing at that point.

General Board / Re: Ben Folds covering the Beatles?

There are certainly some hints of Beatles in his music, such as Hospital Song (Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds) and Jane Be Jane (Harrison's I'd Have You Anytime).

He didn't release a true music video either. I think he knows this album has a smaller audience
Fear of Pop and Songs for Goldfish were a lot more obscure than this, yet with both he appeared on NBC's Late Night.

Well, I see that you kind of answered your question here:

CBS Saturday Morning's ratings are probably a rounding error as compared to the late night shows.

Pretty much everything he's ever released before has warranted a major network late night show appearance, eg Letterman, Conan, etc.

This one snuck under the radar, but Ben Folds and yMusic were on CBS This Morning Saturday Sessions a month ago:

Album Board / Limited So There Promotion?
« on: October 27, 2015, 03:01:26 AM »
Considering he's appeared on major television shows for nearly every album (even including Fear of Pop and Songs for Goldfish), I've found it interesting that Ben hasn't been on any of the shows to promote So There.  Any insight?

New Honda commercial features "Cologne". Think Ben is making good money off these commercials these days?  ;D

Correction, the title of the track is "Before Cologne" :)

We most likely will get a standard solo album next and that'll satisfy the masses

Doesn't seem like that will happen.  Sounds like his next project is either the symphonic university thing or another collaboration with yMusic.  There were also rumors of an album with his touring band, but there hasn't been any mention of this lately.

I'd still like to hear the jazz jam thing Ben Folds Five allegedly recorded.
