Album Board / Re: Long Piece About Bats, Stems and Lyrics
« on: November 06, 2008, 07:52:55 PM »
yeah, i'll be graduating from lsu in a year.  excitement is abounding.
i'm REALLY tired of baton rouge.  it's nice being so close to new orleans though.  that city rocks.

i cant wait to travel around the country. seeing everyone post on here, it seems as if the a lot of people are from the mid-ish western states or the south. ive really never been anyway outside of the northeast/mid atlantic. (ok i went to disney world once. when i was eight. does not count) i was talking to a friend at work who lived in california her whole life and she was telling me how strange it was to be able to travel through so many states so quickly, referring to a trip i took where i traveled through eight states in about nine hours.

itd be amazing to go to chicago or new orleans. or really anywhere different. jealous.  ;)

yeah.  i generally hate dramas.  there is enough in my real life that i don't need to watch other people's.  but, i do love me some grey's.  awful, i know.

i usually dont watch a lot of tv and last season was kinda blah, but still... when greys is good, its sooo damn good.  they have the get the right combination of tears and laughs.

what is a watermelon match? is that where people paint faces on watermelons and pretend to have them fight???

actually its when people participate in the ancient ritual worshipping the great watermelon gods by dressing up as giant watermelons, eating as much as they can, throwing fruit at each other, and then... oh f*ck me, i just spelled it wrong ok? i meant "patch".  ;)

yeah.  i got one saying that in a matter of hours, our national bird, the bald eagle, was to be replaced with fried chicken.

 >:(

my brother got one that said something along the lines of "the rose garden at the white house has been turned into a watermelon match"

 >:( >:( >:(

thanks!!! its been a few years, but i'm finally there.

also, this is from a writers forum i'm in from some old white lady:

I think it's great that our black brothers and sisters no longer have a gripe that they can never make it due to predjudice or other unavailable avenues open to them. Now they can get out,get an education and get off their duff. I am glad for them

LOL wow.....

oh goodness. get off their duff. heh.

and pictures puhlease!! i want to hear/slash/see the craziness from out west!

While I personally voted for McCain and am disappointed in the results, I congratulate all of you and Barack Obama on the election.  It makes me sad to see so many pathetic losers out there acting the way they are about Obama winning the election, so here's one Republican who does NOT feel the need to make racist, threatening, comments to our next president of the United States.  I may not have supported him, but he's still our President-elect, and that deserves my respect if anything.  People need to realize that this man will be in the highest office of this country and whether or not we support or agree with everything he stands for, we still have to respect him.  For all of you that have gotten a bad vibe from so called "Christians" out there, please, just remember, that not all Christians feel that way and are like that.  Jesus would not have reacted this way, and neither should Christians.

Here's to praying and hoping that Obama will do a good job in the next four years for our country.

i may not be christian, but amen to that crimson. hopefully more republicans feel that way too.

this doesn't seem real. i feel as if everyone around is glowing. everyone seems extra happy today, on the street, in the subway, most certainly in my office... we're ending work early and having celebratory champagne. im going to echo some of the statements made on here about feeling proud to be an american, and i know it sounds totally cheesy but its true. my friends and i joined in with the streets full of thousands people who were so happy they screamed and cried and jumped up and down with joy. ive never seen anything like it and im not sure when i ever will again. im just so grateful and glad to have been apart of it.

if i can gather the funds, god help me, i will be at the inauguration.

me too.

that is just... so very strange to me. i can't even articulate it. sometimes i feel as if the U.S. is really split into five different countries.  Hell, some would say that California alone is culturally two different states.

oh america, why are you so weird?

this may be a stupid question but... is the civil war REALLY referred to as "the war of northern aggression" in some of the southern states?
