Tour Board / Re: 9/6/08 Mann Music Center with Philly Orchestra

Hey, everybody!  Old-time poster here, mainly just a lurker these days.  Anyway, just got tickets for the Philly show and I am looking forward to seeing what he will be doing.  I've been busy having babies and haven't seen Ben since 2004 so this is especially exciting for me.  It seems he is still doing a decent amount of BF5 material, I can only hope!  Anyway, thanks in advance for not snubbing me for coming out of my years of 'silence' on the Boards.

Doesn't it change slighlty every time he tells it?  Kinda like the story behind SFTD?

I'm added too!

Scranton represent!

I hate to be all, 'oh, I remember when,' but . . .  I remember when there were like five of us here and now there are tons of members all over the freaking map!

Tell us about Darren on left of centre; was he being interviewed? Playing a set?

Sadly, all I got was a sneeze.  They talked about Darren Jesse being in the studio formerly of the legendary band Ben Folds Five and then there was a sneeze or a cough, some rustilng, laughing, then they went into a Hotel Lights song and no more was spoken about Darren until I got the email from Ghosty saying Darren attacked him and ran out of the building.  I don't know.

What is Left of Center?

It's an indie station on Sirius.

zach braff is god. what song was it?

'Still Fightin It'--So I'm sitting there with my Smart Ones Key Lime Pie, jammies on, curled up in a blanket with my hair up and my glasses on and all I hear is 'I've got all the chaaaaange . . .'  HUH!?  And I look around for someone to tell, but Hubby's sleeping, Baby's sleeping, and Cat, well, he doesn't like Ben's solo career, still bitter about the band breakup, so he doesn't care.  After figuring out that talking to myself then answering back in a British accent wasn't 'healthy,' I picked up the phone to tell my Psychic Friend, Shaleeta Bouffay, the good news.  She responded  back by saying, 'who the f*ck is Ben Folds and why is he on a gay soap opera?'  That's when I realized how much I missed the Suburbs . . .

~K, Glad to be home.

I liked this idea for a thread.  Puts a face to a, well, lack of one.  Thread brought me out of retirement.

Then . . .

And Now.

(First of all, hello, again.)

Forgive me if someone already mentioned this, but did anyone hear Ben on 'Scrubs' this week?  It always makes me so proud to hear 'my Ben' anyway other than my car.

Also, anybody catch Darren on Left of Center on Sunday?  I emailed the show and got this as a response:

Sadly, Darren just attacked me and ran out of the studio. (Just kidding)

I'll play Ben Folds Five tonight for ya,

Why do reveiws bother us so much?  Why can't we just shrug our shoulders and move on?

Sure be a Goddess of whatever the hell you want.  Feel empowered.

~K, scratching head and wondering how she lost control of her own thread.

I wish everyone had their hearts in the right place for Foldsie as much as we do... we're like the grandmas who spoil him when he comes over... giving him cookies, letting him stay up late and watch tv... and even when the little bastard lights the barn out back on fire... he's done no wrong... simply a boy bein' a boy.  But unfortunately a lot of critics have no heart, sometimes no blood, often no DNA to speak of at all, let alone grandparents who might've spoiled them... so what should we expect?

Come here Bennie... wanna cookie???

This is such a good statement and pretty much what I have been bludgeoned by fellow fans for trying to say for years.

This is so true!  We are the Grandmas!  I consider myself more of a step-Grandma.  Still very emotionally attached, but just enough of an outsider to be able to see when he's being a bastard and to call him on it.

Thank you for doing what I have unsuccessfully been trying to do for years and putting words to my thoughts.

We both are brilliant.

So, I was looking at the site statistics today and saw that there are 2.4 males to every 1 female here.  Since we are outnumbered my almost 2 and a hlaf times, I feel that all us ladies should band together.  We should unite.

A while ago we did this, there were a lot less of us ladies on the Board and we called ourselves the Goddesses of the Boards.  Anyway, I'm feeling nostalgic and am looking to recreate this estrogen-powered alliance once again.

Below, list your name and your Super-Goddess power.

I am Kristina, Goddess of Motherhood, because I feel like Mom to you all.
