Tour Board / Re: Does Ben always do a meet and greet after shows?

it's not likely.  the only time I've met him after a symphony show was because I won tickets to a special meet and greet put on by his fan club.

General Board / Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY #46 BEN!

From Sweden: Grattis på Födelsedag!

You all know how influential Ben has been in my life. I was a big classical music nut in my teens (yeah, I was quite the popular kid) until I heard "Underground" which inspired me to start playing piano, transcribe music, and get into the whole indie thing. "The whole indie thing" lead me to such things as my radio show, performing music meant I met my wife (in a band), and my combined love of music/tech got me my job. Perhaps if I hadn't heard "Underground" on the radio that day I wouldn't be here. I certainly wouldn't be typing on a red message board which *still* takes money from my wallet each and every month. :)

Happy Birthday Ben. Can't think of a better way to celebrate than the highly anticipated return of the bands that - for many of us - opened our eyes to a different form of music. Can't wait for the download!

Really digging this sound... I'm sl glad it didn't get overmastered.

THIS.  though, i knew it wouldn't after the debacle with Way to Normal/Stems & Seeds.  glad that era is over.  (hopefully for good)

i'll be hitting up the show in New Orleans.  getting to see Ben in the same auditorium where i met the love of my life.  life is good.
also, do y'all think these shows are going to be solo?  i'd really like to see Ben with band, since Ashton's only seen solo Ben (except for lolla a few years back).

News / Re: Ben for Obama?

Obama is a smart guy. Regardless of politic views, I feel more secure with him running the country than half of the GOP candidates.

that's awfully nice of you.  i would've said ALL of the GOP candidates.

He’s confident about at least one more future career path: composer/lyricist of a Broadway musical.  “I will do a musical one day,” Folds admits.

Am I the only one who finds that to be exciting?

Thanks for the link!

meh.  he's been talking about it forever.  i'll believe it when i see it (likely over and over and over again).

Mel can't listen to Boxing cause of the way he says Howard)

oh, god... i can hear him singing it in my head over and over slowly turning me to a crazy.

also...
I do particularly like the strings on PW

booo!  i think there's something off about the string arrangement.  it doesn't particularly add anything to the feeling and emotions being evoked by the lyrics.

News / Re: "Picture Window" Is Awful
« on: September 30, 2010, 01:10:38 PM »
Here are my thoughts concerning 'Picture Window' as of today after a number of listens while driving around town…etc…. Currently I slightly favor the stripped down demo version with the moving French horn

this.
there just seems to be something off with the string arrangement to me.
where as the power of the demo/stripped down version really caught my ear.  gonna be a good live tune though, i suspect.
