EDIT: I went back through here looking for some stuff, and it appears as though MediaFire decided to delete a bulk of my uploads without informing me. So, I apologize for the lack of linkage to a variety of bootlegs listed here. Hopefully, someone has them downloaded and can reupload them.
:(

Use a download manager like jDownloader (http://www.jdownloader.org/download/index) to get everything quickly and painlessly. Extracting from a series of .7z or .rar files can be done easily by 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/), WinRAR (http://www.rarlab.com/), and a variety of other archival programs (be sure to download each part, or else you won't be able to do anything with the files!).

Sweet, thanks for making this, hopefully this will give people more incentive to post all their bootlegs. I can post more of my stuff when I get a chance. May I suggest you make two different sections for BFF and solo shows though.
-
Alright, I put up everything I have that I know isn't on wokeup or on an active torrent.
If anyone replies with a new show, I'll add it to the list above!
-
Just a side note, the strings version of OAD at the HORDE Festival is an amazing rendition of the song. Everyone should download that torrent before it dies.
EDIT: Also, dimeadozen has about 7 or 8 BFF concerts currently being seeded if you wanna link those.
-
Considering you need a login to view them, I didn't think it'd be worth doing (especially since DIME tracks a ratio, too, and not everyone here loves torrents). If you know which ones still aren't on wokeup, link to 'em. I'll attempt to go through them later, but no guarantees.
-
Sure would be nice to have access to some of those torrents without actually having to torrent. Anyone going to make them available to those of us who don't torrent?
-
And seriously, Zeek - thanks for putting this together.
-
I can put up all my shows over the next few weeks. The next couple days are just very busy for me. Do you have any BFF shows you could put up jpar? I remember you saying a whole bunch of them were lost in storage though.
-
How's it goin! ;D Wow, it's been a while since I've posted on this site! :P It's really awesome to see that you guys have started to put together a thread like this! ;)
I just uploaded all the concerts I have for you guys. ;) (At least, all that I can find. :P I'll upload more if I find any.) You can grab them here:
Ben Folds Five 1997-08-02 HORDE Festival East Troy, WI (http://www.mediafire.com/?tttwvyo382r27) (A different concert with the string quartet!)
Ben Folds Five 1998-02-15 Chicago Cybercast (http://www.mediafire.com/?lhesq2xkfz93r)
Ben Folds Five 1998-07-24 'Live at the World Cafe' Philadelphia Radio (http://www.mediafire.com/?51zd9f80min1u)
and I think you missed a few from this (http://www.thesuburbs.org.uk/Board/index.php?topic=5858.0) thread:
Ben Folds Five 1996-03-24 "Sunday Night" New York City Radio (http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=5f142533c462031b4c17ca8801618ef7a39895a55d854cb44da018f8c462ba45)

Honestly, I was avoiding shows that are still active on torrents for the sake of preserving the original torrent on both DIME and etree (as a few of those shows are). But, since they're here now, there's not much I can do other than to add it to the list.
Thanks for the uploads!
-
For shows that are no longer active on torrent sites would you guys prefer FLACs or MP3s? I'm pretty sure I still have all of the original FLAC files but it just takes longer to upload so if it doesn't matter I'll upload the MP3s.

In effort to preserve the shows, I (and I'm sure many others) would love if you uploaded the FLAC files. It's nice to have the original to re-encode however you like instead of being stuck with whatever the MP3 is in.

+1 for FLACs.

-1 for flacs. Overrated!
Mp3 are fine, especially at 256k.
Would anyone be interested in uploading these bootlegs to wokeupwaytoolate.com so they can be more easily downloaded and preserved? I can arrange access...
Cheers!
And Thanks!

Ooh! I'm definitely up for the job! :) I could definitely try to have all this uploaded pretty soon if you'd want me to do it! :)

I'll start on it now, actually.
Also. Question- is there a track 18 (or was it just encore noise?) on the second boot? (Athens)
Also, Bonner Springs is already on WUWTL: http://wokeupwaytoolate.com/filedump/Solo%20Folds%20Bootlegs/MP3/2007-06-19%20Bonner%20Springs,%20KS/
Thirdly. .rars or .zips Please if you're going to upload additional shows. Also what the hell is this other format that my compy doesn't know... and that I don't know. ???
Anyway. Thanks for the efforts peoples! Will get it all up on WUWTL (and I've got a few that have been waiting here too.)

FLACs can be turned into MP3s, MP3s cannot be turned into FLACs.
Consider you other bootleggers, and provide both.

Thanks Allison! You've put in a great amount of work into the archive! I hope people realise and appreciate that the vast majority of it comes from you =) Cheers.

Absolutely, I have no problem with bootlegs being released in both formats if possible. I just think flacs are unnecessary, and flac supporters are elitists =P
I can't understand the benefit in taking what is inherenty a poor quality/dirty source (a bootleg) and presenting it at such high bitrates/or uncompressed. To me it seems like shooting a video on your mobile/cell phone and uploading it in FullHD. It's still going to look like mobile phone footage, but it's going to be ridiculously inconvenient to download and to store.
Obvioulsy I am no audiophile... and I don't own expensive headphones... so perhaps that has something to do with my perspective.
I'm all for options, but I don't see much benefit in flacs. Each to their own!
Good to see you're still around Andy!
Cheers.
-
I'm gonna be uploading the FLACs whenever I add stuff here. You can always convert to MP3 but you can't go the other way.
Anyway, here is another BFF show. It's at The Fillmore, San Francisco, CA from 11/28/97 (http://www.mediafire.com/?daomc6r0muhqd). It was recently on DIME but has lost its seeders.
A pretty standard setlist but a fantastic show as always.
EDIT: Actually, after reading mightb0y's post, I think I'm gonna stick with MP3s from now on. It's more convenient to upload as well as download. If you want the FLACs I can get them to you.
EDIT II: So after downloading the entire thing and converting to MP3 I came to the realization that the Chicago Cybercast show is in fact their show at Riviera Theater from 2/15/98 (which I already have). The Riviera Show can be currently found on DIME. You may want to edit that info into the first post.
EDIT III: I'm downloading the "Live at the World Cafe" show and I think the date may be wrong. According to The Magical Armchair (http://www.magicalarmchair.com/bff/oldtourdates_1998.html) they played in Australia on 7/24/98. I'm thinking it's from 5/28/98 because the text file that came with this says it's from the radio station WXPN in Philadelphia and that matches up with that date on the Magical Armchair link. Anyway, I think the first post should be edited.

Cool, thanks for all the uploads. That show from the Roskilde Festival was just on DIME a day or two ago...must've just lost its last seeder. When did you find those 3 incomplete shows on DIME though? I've been checking for BFF stuff regularly for about 6 months now and haven't ever seen those shows on there.

According to my computer properties, I downloaded the torrent files in April 2010. I continually struggle with the ratio requirements on Dime. I must have been blocked for a little while until I uploaded enough and by the time I was back within the requirements, the torrents had lost their tracker. :(
-
FYI....Last night's show in Cologne is on Dime (http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=348211). (not mine)
-
Great recording at that, too!
I really like the live version of Saskia.

Just a heads up to everyone, a BFF show at the Tabernacle, Atlanta, GA was put up on DIME a couple days ago. It has a a LIVE VERSION OF AIR (HOLY f*ck) so I suggest you snatch it up quick. I think it may be the only time they played it live. Anyone know for sure?
-
"Air" was also played live in San Diego on May 11th, 1998.
Anyone going to be posting these for those of us who don't torrent? Please?

jpar always bringing the knowledge. Here is the show in MP3 format. The quality is top notch and the setlist is crazy good.

Thanks for the share! If anyone has the Germany show, that'd be appreciated as well.
Happy to share my knowledge with the group in exchange for concerts any time... "Air" made several appearances at concerts throughout the summer of 1998 as "Godzilla" hit theaters.

I'll get that show on here today. Were ALL your BFF live shows lost in storage jpar or just a large majority?
EDIT: Here's the show. Haven't listened to it yet so I can't comment on the quality but the setlist looks pretty good. Sentimental Guy and Tom and Mary are cool to see on the setlist. The order of songs is in the TXT file.
Ben Folds, Live Music Hall, Cologne, Germany (3/8/2011) (http://www.mediafire.com/?po8i29ca88r38)
Also jpar, I have a random question. Did the Five ever play Silver Street live? If so, when/where? If not, do you know why?
-
Updated with the mp3-converted shows from vosnos. Here's some album art I used for the Cologne show on my converted set: here (http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/860/cologne2011.jpg) (taken from a YouTube video from where he played Mess at the same concert). For the Tabernacle show of Folds Five, I tried to find a picture from the show (but that's virtually impossible), so I used this (http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/3946/ragewh.jpg) one instead.
(I'm OCD with all my mp3s being tagged with every possible detail :P )

Were ALL your BFF live shows lost in storage jpar or just a large majority?
My digital library is intact, with the files I originally uploaded to Kyle's FTP back in the 90s safe and preserved for all time on various backup drives. My cassette collection with shows dating back to early 1995 (I think there was even a 1994 show) were lost in the great storage fiasco.
Thanks for the files! As for your other question, I'm unaware of any BF5 performances of Silver Street, just as many of the songs which were demos in the pre-Five/Five days were untouched by the band and only unearthed after Folds went solo. I couldn't venture a guess as to why that would be. Next time you chat with Folds, maybe he'll be able to reach far back into his memory banks and shed some light on the subject for you.

Do you have BFF live shows in your digital library? I was under the impression that all of them were lost in storage. And holy crap about a '94 show...happen to remember the venue? Must've been a local spot in Winston-Salem.

I believe I've uploaded what I have digitally to the fileshare, or the content was taken off the old Clubhouse FTP and put up by others. Most of the BFF video stuff was copied from my tapes in the late 90s and uploaded. It's a Pain in the Ass™ to cross reference the server since there's no UI to it.

I'll post the FLAC once I seed for awhile and reclaim my ratio.
EDIT: Put up zip archives of Folds and Kate for easier downloading.

Thanks folks! It's really appreciated!
-
The recovery on Don't Change Your Plans was wonderful, until he dropped it again. Still, it made me want to cheer when he's just talking and has that burst of "oh yeah, this is how it goes," and just starts playing
-
Wow, thank you so much for the Southampton one! That night was the first time I saw Ben and it was great to listen to it again. Thanks!

Added the Berlin DVD to the topic. You can still get it on torrent (I'll seed it for awhile), but I've uploaded it to megaupload.

I'd say you're better off with the megaupload links, but there's some more seeds appearing (last I checked, anyway).

I know it's not Ben, but I think a lot of us really dig Jukebox the Ghost. There's a pretty rad bootleg of their NY show that includes their wonderful cover of Power of Love: http://www.nyctaper.com/?p=5925

Awesome! Anyone have this in a non-torrent download?
-
Seriously, my ISP throttles torrent traffic to a ridiculous measure. If anyone has downloaded these recent additions, I'd be happy to re-up the files to Woke Up.
-
I'll upload this show (in flac) and another that appeared the other day later on once I have the time. If someone wants to beat me to it, go right ahead.

Heh, as I suspected, this was the bootleg sourced for NBP, specifically Twin Falls and Boxing. Once Twin Falls popped on, I knew it sounded familiar.

Sweet, thanks for the heads up.

So, does anyone here have advice for bootlegging and the best way to go about it? I'm seeing the Five for the first time this summer and it would be great to have a recording of the show...
-
I don't know much myself but check out the Trader's Den Tapers' Forum, I'm pretty sure they have good info there and are willing to help.

I am going to the Summerfest show 6/28 and the Chicago show 6/29, and will be recording both!

Does anyone have 2011-07-15? I was at that show and it was absolutely beautiful, would love to track down a recording. :)

Thanks for this. I loved this tour and the energy the other 3 brought to Ben's songs.

Listening through now, great recording! Any chance of a direct download?
Also, in terms of this topic, I'll work on reuploading all the stuff I put up in the coming months to mega. Mediafire decided to take it down without telling me, let alone flagging it.
-

Honestly, probably not. I got this from a torrent of a DVD a number of years ago and only had a hard copy that I burned and forgot about for years. I ripped it in the highest possible quality so I could upload it and forget about it. But if you'd like to keep it, I'd use youtube-dl to grab the video in high quality. For the file size vs. quality, it's more optimal than a VIDEO_TS folder (DVD interlaced video... yuck :P).
-
Does anybody have a recording of Give Judy My Notice with Guster?
edit: found it! (http://www.wokeupwaytoolate.com/filedump/Solo%20Folds%20Bootlegs/SHN/2004-06-29%20-%20Filene%20Center%20at%20Wolf%20Trap%20-%20Vienna,%20VA/)

Now that I have internet that doesn't have a data cap, I've been reuploading all the bootlegs I have to mega. There may be some repeats of those on wokeup, but I haven't really done a thorough check.

The only thing that I can't seem to find on my hard drive at the moment is the Freaking Out DVD, which I thought I had somewhere. So, if anyone has that, I'd appreciate a reupload.

You Don't Know Me
I haven't been downloading too many of these, particularly the yMusic ones, since the setlist is seemingly the same every time. A lot of the ones posted previously that I missed myself over the months have already disappeared from DIME. So, hopefully, one day they'll crop up again, somewhere.

It's been awhile. My request for the Freaking Out DVD still stands :D
Here you go!

Last saturday, Ben says his show in Brussels (june 1) was recorded for a broadcast!! Does members now more about it?
-
Did this Brussels footage show up on some programme? Did anyone run into it? I'd love to see it.
-
I was at the Brussels show and believe it was being recorded for local radio broadcast. I remember Ben making reference to things happening on stage (think it was when the drums were coming out during Stevens Last Night in Town) and how it wouldn't make sense on the radio without seeing it. Never found it online though.
I've got a recording on my phone but havent got round to listening or editing. (it was my fourth Ben show that month!)
Good show though, I was at the soundcheck and requested Amelia Bright (great effort by Ben), Sports and Wine, Redneck Past, Julianne and Morgan Davis.

Hey there! Does anyone have a recording or two from the Tall Heights tour? Been trying to hunt one down but can’t find anything.
