Check out the story here

When I read Manchester on the main page, I though "Ohhhhhhh... Manchester" but then Andy pointed out that it's name was stolen by a place in Tennessee... Grrr...
Whatever next? A Birmingham in Alabama? I SCOFF at the thought!
-
:D
There is also a Birmingham in Michigan, as well as a Memphis and a Richmond.
Sorry that the Manchester you saw wasn't the one you wanted it to be, Alex.

Something I'd like to know is where the hell is Old Zealand? Why do we have NEW Zealand? I've never heard of Old Zealand (well, technically, it would just be called Zealand because when they named it, they wouldn't have realised it would be old). It's all just a big Geographical conspiracy AGAINST me, isn't it? >:(
-
AHHH!! G. Love is going to be there too, and i only just missed him last week when he was here!!! i wish i lived in Bonnaroo...
-
That's a very good question, Alex. Of course, that could apply to a few other places as well. Was there ever and Old York, an Old Jersey, or an Old Hampshire? Hmmm? What about Old England?
Huh??

So lucky you guys live in the States. AGAIN us poor Aussies miss out on the goods. However, I do have a recommendation to anyone going...
While checking out a Aussie bands site, I noticed they were playing there.
If you get the chance, SEE THEM. Their name is The Cat Empire -- they play an interesting blend of jazz, rap, reggee, and whatever else they feel like throwing into the mix -- with a lead trumpetter who also does lead vocals, another guy on lead vocals and percussion, an awesome drummer, a keyboardist, a scratcher (or whatever you call those guys with the turntables), and a backup gang of trumpets and sax.
Seriously, they always have really pumping gigs, so hopefully you'd enjoy if you get the chance.

actually, this time we're missing out too. its those damn Bonnaroo people in Europe or wherever the hell it is....
-
It's in Tennessee, Chloe... ;)
-
I was considering roadtripping.
But damn, $200 (after the service charge), plus probably just expenses and food will be $100.
And then tshirts.
f*ck
I hate not being rich.

Since it says so here:

LAME
-
Well, sor-ry, but you asked.
Why is it that I feel like people are being snarky with me?
Maybe it's just me. My emotions are all mixed up. I've gotten bad news twice in the same week, and I just don't want anymore. :(
-
Awww... (sends virtual hugs/comfort)
-
Thanks, Alex. I posted more in the Random Ramblings thread.
Back on topic, if I lived closer to Tennessee, I'd so go to see Ben Folds at this venue.
-
i wasnt saying lame to you, i was saying lame to it being in Tennessee, because i dont live there either.
-
Oh, ok. Thanks for telling me that.
Like I said, really sensitve lately.
:(
-
this is the kind of music festival tho that people travel from all over the US to go to. my brothers went there from St. louis. and they also release DVDs and CDs from the festival. but chances are, that if ben was on there, it would only be for like one song.
-
Actually, speaking of Boonaroo and how they do recordings...
Does anyone here have the Warren Haynes album, "Live At Bonnaroo"? It's not for sale in Aus, so I tried downloading it via torrent. It was going great -- till it stopped at 97%... so, I have really bad skips on a large number of songs. If anyone could seed the torrent, I'd be most grateful. If you could message me or something, that'd be awesome.
-
Are you a Dave fan "Death"? Warren Haynes does a mean Cortez the Killer with the guys on the Central Park CD. Check it out if you haven't already!
