Thoughts on BF/BFF vinyl

I've picked up So There and Sound of the Life on vinyl recently and they both sound great. I did see the self titled album in a store but passed because of some not so good reviews on the sound quality. I'd like to get RTS on vinyl but I have to say they've priced me out with $35 and $40 for an album on vinyl. Pretty crazy prices......but not as crazy as Phish on vinyl.

The price on those will eventually go down.

Does anyone by chance know what the bonus tracks are?

I may be being a snob (okay, am), but I was a bit bummed when the bonus tracks from the 10" ended up on Spotify the next week. I've got to remind myself that it was limited to 2,000 in its run. Hope everyone picked up a copy. A burbian (though through social media only, I think) took the photo on the cover, so I'm feeling all sorts of proud about it.

Worth mentioning. I have the original, but this is happening too. I think this makes all his releases pretty easily available for vinyl purchase.

The Analog Spark reissues are very intriguing. Kevin Gray is a hell of a mastering engineer, and if it's from the original mix reels, that means these reissues should beat the original issues (digitally sourced, likely the CD masters) by a wide margin. I already have Reinhold Messner pre-ordered, I may just order Songs for Silverman, though it's not one of my favorites. That would leave Way to Normal as the only Folds album I don't own on vinyl.

The self-titled BFF vinyl now appears to be out of print and the prices online are now reflecting the availability. I did pick up a copy but haven't opened it yet--partially based on some not so great sounds reviews I've read about but felt like I needed to get it for "the collection."

In this day and age, vinyl is the only physical format that really seems practical, why go out of print? Eh, what do I know.

Not sure if anyone's gotten the Songs For Silverman reissue or listened yet, but I just noticed something quite interesting. In "Jesusland," the line, "Town to town, broadcast to each house..." is now "From town to town..."

The Reinhold Messner and Silverman reissues were described as being from the "original mix reels." I wonder if these albums were remixed specifically for the records, or if an alternate mix was erroneously used?

I ordered the red vinyl Messner and the clear vinyl Silverman. Bit the bullet and got them both since they're limited releases. Buy now, think later... right?

I did the same. I've been slowly building up my vinyl collection so it made sense that I pick them up. No regrets. If I remember correctly these were the first Folds cds I owned so they're pretty special.

I gave Silverman a spin last night for the first time on vinyl and I was impressed. There is the "Analog Sparks" sticker on the cover (more about going to the source tapes I believe). Very minimum surface noise--really barely noticeable on some of the more quiet parts of the album. I played "Trusted" twice because I love the background vocals on that song. They sounded a bit different than the cd but great nonetheless. Any thoughts? Any opinions on "Messner" on vinyl? I haven't ordered that one yet.
