I'd love them to go to burbians personally.

But I'm biased and need to raise some cash basically!

Cheers guys!  \m/

Better be brilliant now, thought I'd share my find as I know some of you guys mightve gone if it hadn't been for the expense. Ben's no longer with them just to clarify.

News / Delayed Fan Club Announcement as per...
« on: September 05, 2008, 01:42:55 PM »
The email reads:

Hey fan club members!

A whole new way to normal is coming at you! In the coming weeks, Ben Folds fans will experience a whole new way of enjoying one of their favorite artists. Ben’s US Fall Tour is on-sale, a new album is right around the corner and both Ben’s official website and fan club get a fresh new look.

The relaunch of the official Ben Folds fan club aims to make your online experience more user-friendly and will feature lots of new bells and whistles that will bring the Ben Folds fan community closer together. More details to follow, but don’t worry: if you just joined and are waiting on getting your welcome package: you’ll be receiving it very soon!

In the spirit of change for the better, we also have a special announcement to share with you. Ben Folds Five is reuniting for a special live concert for MySpace’s new "Front To Back" program, which celebrates iconic albums that have helped shape the MySpace Generation. MySpace kicks off this program by reuniting beloved alt-pop band Ben Folds Five with an exclusive one-time live performance of their final studio album together, The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner, in its entirety. The concert will be the band's first performance together in nearly ten years and will take place in the band’s former hometown of Chapel Hill, North Carolina on September 18, 2008 at the UNC Memorial Hall and will air on in October.

"When MySpace approached me about doing this gig," Ben Folds said, "I misunderstood and thought they wanted us to play Purple Rain front to back, so of course I said yes. But we're happy to do "The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner" instead. Of our three albums, this one brings back the most vivid memories.  It was actually written to be one song of many movements, which is why there are motifs that appear throughout the album. That should make 'Reinhold' a natural to be played front to back."

We have reserved a block of tickets exclusively for Ben Folds fan club members and will host a ticket lottery and choose 25 lucky fan club members that respond by Sunday, September 7 at 12pm EST. Those chosen will have the opportunity to purchase 2 tickets to this exclusive event featuring the newly reunited Ben Folds Five.  Duno if I should mention where to email in case i annoy people just ask your fanclub friends.  Note: no transportation or accommodations will be included and you will have to get yourself to and from the event.  We will notify all winners via email by Sunday, September 7 at 8pm EST.

Tickets to the Ben Folds Five Front to Back taping will go on sale to the general public through on September 8th at 10am EST. Portion of proceeds from concert will benefit Operation Smile: Changing Lives One Smile at a Time.

Looking forward to seeing you at the show.

Tour Board / Newcastle June 24th 2008
« on: June 24, 2008, 03:28:55 PM »
Okay, I made notes in my phone to remember as I'm a bit forgetful and was feeling the pressure  :P

(Yeah and due to living with a laptop with no sound I hadn't heard new stuff apart from Kylie and Free Coffee properly so please do correct me with song titles!

assh*le (? name anyone)
You To Thank
<Then he puts tins and a cookie tin lid in the piano and uses the distorter which means...>
Free Coffee (f*cking love this one personally)
All U Can Eat
Brainwashed (? I think, he told the story about falling off a stage in Japan and bleeding all over the piano but carrying on with the show and then going and getting his head x-rayed...)
Annie Waits
Battle of Who Could Care Less (An unexpected but well received one!)
Army (which he didn't dwell on as much as I've seen him do in the past)
Rockin' The Suburbs
Underground (one of my favs :) )
Ode to bridge in Newcastle/RTB Newcastle - this was really funny, proper improv, told us about the indian he had earlier in Newcastle that had made him feel a bit off and about the millenium bridge (not that Ben knew the name of it, just loved the personal touch kinda made the fact he was actually in Newcastle hit home to me!)
Zak and Sara
<Now Ben tells us of how this line came into his head while he was in the shower standing with a bar of soap...If theres a god out there he's laughing at us, and our football team...>
Not the Same  - with which he breaks the audience up into 3 part harmonies! was very fun, he got excited climbed on the piano and everything!

I really got the impression Ben enjoyed tonight! He was full of energy, lots of new stuff and some old which is good, dad didn't know quite a bit of it and I was quite prod of us being second row despite his injury! (which he didnt tell me till afterwards had swollen up during the performance so he couldnt bend it properly!)

I've got some amazing photos but I don't know how to upload them still because I am thick! I'll have a go but you could just check them out on my facebook peeps, if I love you enough anyway ;)

Just can't wait for Glasto now!

Oh bought two tshirts, Dad didn't buy the "I loved Ben Folds before he sucked" Tour T as he felt as a bloke there was just too many connotations, however I bought one and a navy one with Ben faces on, £20 a piece is pretty steep tho!

Jared and Sam were on top form tonight as well, they work so well together! SO GOOD!

Still rather high...;D mint show! \m/

General Board / happy birthday Andy!
