brixton is possibly THE cooloest venue on earth! The floor is sloped, so even if you stuck behind us tall bastards, you can probably still see a bit...

Never been upstairs though.. the front couple of rows are sometimes reserved for guests n stuff - I've been to gigs where people have started queuing like a year before or something, but then I get there early for another gig and there's no one there at 5pm - so pot luck I guess! However there's a Nando's just across the road and a few dodgy pubs, so hours of entertainment - failing that theres always loads of lazy class C's to be bought almost everywhere there!

I'm back in the land of the tinternet - and I just wanna say thanks andy for letting us terrorise your station, taking over a respectable establishment and spitting it out, maybe with a used, abused kinda feeling..

anyway, This is just a blatant attempt to get my posting numbers up after a bit of stick from Andy God(tm) so expect loads of meaningless crap over the next week!!!

Anyhoo, thanks again andy for all your kindness over the week, it was brilliant, and I'm gonna practice the boxing, you watch, i'll be the best...hahahahahahahahaha.

Ok time to shut up...

News / NME review of Jesusland
« on: October 05, 2005, 05:53:24 AM »
Has anyone seen NME This week?

Almost bloody fainted - They have NEVER given anything I like a good review, which has been a comfort - TIL NOW!

They gave Jesusland a brilliant review (though I don't have it with, kinda negate the whole point - damn)

Do I now reassess my faith in The Ben or just put it down to a blip in NME policy of being twonks?

(oh and if anyone can post the review, that would be handy!)

I missed them...again.  >:(
On top of that, my girlfriend went to see them in Leeds just to piss me off... my band were playing on the thursday, the day they played london, and on friday night I had to work, so couldn't get to Brighton..WHY?!!!!

Though my girlfriend bought me a CD from the gig and got the band to sign it - which was really cool!

If you haven't checked em out - do it now, they're brilliant!

Clem Snide - End of Love
Queen - Sheer Heart Attack
Eels - Shootenanny

I was sooo close there too!

Not sure that I like the new Eels with strings tour though... don't expect too much!

General Board / Re: Playing the drums - difficult?
« on: July 23, 2005, 02:23:38 PM »
This is the first time I've felt compelled to post here, but being a crappy drummer myself I wanna set the record straight!

Hi by the way! I love this site - its so much friendlier than the org and com - but just not got round to posting yet, so here i am!

I spent years finding an instrument that needed next to no talent to look cool on, starting out on sax, guitar, nose flute, and finally arriving at the drums..

For the first few months, lets make no mistake, I was AWFUL! lokking back, I dn't know how the neighbours didn't get me arrested, bless them for being old and deaf! This will happen to you also - but keep with it - just put on your favourite records really loud and play along... one day it all clicked - over night, from then on in, it was plain sailing!

I could have been really good if I stayed at home, but being 60 thought I better move out!!! Actually, being in a band made me realise that I didn't have to practice any more - I became lazy - I have about three rhythms - its all I've needed til now, but our singer has just got a cheap kit, so I'm busted, guess its time to learn some new tricks.

I need more wine....
