Bonnaroo 2015
« on: June 10, 2015, 10:02:28 PM »
If you're not following us on Facebook or Twitter (I do update those far more frequently)

You can stream Ben and yMusic's 9:45 PM CST set on Friday on bonnaroo.com

Will anyone be able to record it? I don't think I'll be home/with wifi anywhere to do so, otherwise I'd volunteer

Sorry for the double-post, but here you all are: DOWNLOAD

It's a fairly mondo 1.2 GB "720p" MP4  (720p in quotes because the stream was not without it's fair share of compression artifacts), but it's the video as-is yanked straight from the stream in FLV and re-packaged (not re-encoded) into an MP4 container for your viewing pleasure. There was a bit of a hiccup in the stream (during "Army" I think?) where it just froze for a good 30 seconds or so. Sorry, it happened to Allison and I both, not an error on my end.

cool. enjoy.

I'm really really liking the new songs. This might be some of his best artistic output since RtS.

F*ck yeah! The new songs are really good.  \m/ Although the lyrics make him really sound bitter about his last divorce!

If anyone doesn't feel like downloading a gigantic file, I also got a recording, although probably not as good. It started late because I was watching the other (wrong) channel, and there was a hiccup during "You Don't Know Me." But I posted it on YouTube here.

Something about "Phone In A Pool" gives it a really old-school Ben influence, like from the days of Rocky and Cool Whip. I love it.

Split into audio tracks for iPod/PC use. I found a different upload of the concert on YouTube, when they repeated it Saturday, and the hiccups are pretty much all gone. So there's no gap in You Don't Know Me

FLAC (probably unnecessary because the audio is compressed a lot as it is):

Ha, I did this too. I did some editing on mine, though, so it's mostly just the songs and not the banter in between. Also I tuned in to the stream late so I left out the first yMusic tune. Sorry about that.

Thanks for making these compilations, all you guys!

More than good enough to hold me over until the album, haha

F*ck yeah! The new songs are really good.  \m/ Although the lyrics make him really sound bitter about his last divorce!

A LOT of his lyrics in the days of recent seem directly influenced by his women experiences. Ben Folds Five through Rockin' the Suburbs was Ben doing what he does best, telling stories and playing songs. Sure, relationships were mentioned, but there were a TON of topics. Once Silverman hit, we started getting way more songs about bitterness towards that stuff. Way to Normal, despite what is said about it, is 90% a straight up break up album. Lonely Avenue took Ben off lyric duties. Sound of the Life of the Mind was a bit more grounded in subjects, but it did open with probably the best "f*ck YOU" song Ben has written in years. I honestly don't care. He might write a lot about women, but each time its from a unique perspective. He hasn't repeated himself yet and he's on his 9th collection of new material (I refuse to count Fear of Pop or Supersunnyspeedgraphic. FOP is its own identity and I hate what he did with the EP songs on his "lp" version)

Awesome work on all the various versions!

And I agree lyrically that there are fewer and fewer characters as the albums have gone on, and many of these songs have found their beginnings live on stage. Also, BF5 work had plenty of Anna and Darren lyric influences - but now it's what's been shooting off the hip on stage. Which is fine too, just different. But I do like a good character song, for sure.

This stream was a 3AM deal for me, so just wanted to add my thanks to those who time-shifted it for me :)
Really looking forward to this album!

Just saw that the whole thing is up in 2 parts on YouTube with "You Don't Know Me" intact!

Part 1
Part 2
