Tour Board / Re: BF5 @ Bonnaroo

Thanks a bunch to pianobrad and dafatkid for sharing audio and video.  Just like Mountain Jam, it was a fantastic set and everyone sounded exceptional.  Ben had a few more lyrical flubs than usual but they didn't detract from the performance at all.  Wish there was a little more banter between songs but I appreciated the fact that they tried to squeeze in as many songs as possible.  Was hoping for Eddie Walker and Video but there's always the upcoming tour for that.  Watching the webcast was really fun...I have a few cameos during some of the songs. (I'm the guy with the sign)  It was also very cool meeting some fellow board members...I had a feeling some of y'all would be there  \m/

EDIT:  Here's a few pics I took during the show.

Was anyone else here at this gig?  I was there, front and center, and they sounded incredible.  Just like they did 12 years ago.  Darren recognized me which was pretty cool.  For me, it was pretty much a dream setlist, I was dying to hear Summer B, Uncle Walter, and Battle and they played them all.  By chance I had my crappy voice recorder that I use to record lectures so I decided to tape the performance.  On the improv/Rock Out With Your c*ck Out, my recording picked up the audience chanting "Ben Folds Five" along with the beat, which is what inspired Ben to make a song of it.  Also on Army, mine picks up the part where the audience mimics the horn section much better than dafatkid's upload.  Keep in mind it's sh*tty quality but it still gives a nice fan perspective.  If anyone's interested I'll try to upload it.

I was about to buy a ticket, but then saw that they were $124.  What gives.  That's absolutely absurd.

I don't know much myself but check out the Trader's Den Tapers' Forum, I'm pretty sure they have good info there and are willing to help.

Cool.  So it looks like a symphony orchestra/college mini tour?  Any idea when more BFF dates will get announced?

Shit that's awesome.  They better be selling single day passes.

Good to hear, but why would he be recording in LA?  Nashville makes so much more sense, especially with the inclusion of Rob and Darren.

Is anything new going on with the reunion?  I haven't heard a single thing about it for the past few months.  I thought we'd hear something after the Sing Off wrapped up but still nothing...

Are you willing to answer some questions about the whole process?

Allison, just curious, where else did they play Tell Me What I Did?  I only have a copy of the Mayo Island show from 4/30/00.

I feel like Ben phoned it in on this one.  If you're going to make a 55 song collection solely made for supposed die-hards, why the hell do you rehash previously released material and use songs that are easily available on the internet?  It's like he just got the setlist by picking songs off of WUWTL.  There's about 5 songs I haven't heard in any form before and half of those are from Over the Hedge, which I don't really find interesting.  The high quality versions of some of the stuff will be nice but I was really looking for new material and maybe even some pre-Majosha/BFF stuff.
