I saw them live, opening for The Fratellis, and, my oh my, were they good. Blew me away. Bought the album they were so good, and through the wonders of last.fm I saw that I was not the only one. They're an Aussie band, that is/was Dappled Cities Fly, that's still what their url is, but their US album Granddance is cited to simply Dappled Cities. Anyway. The album's fantastical. And y'all should look them up because I said so. They're very nice guys who are more than willing to sign their cd for you too. Hahaa. The track called "Vision Bell" is probably my fantastic, Tim, the lead(ier, there are two pretty main leads) switches in and out of falsetto every other line. It's great. You should download it (you know, from iTunes.) Easily one of my top records of 2007. (I don't think it beats out Fragile Army or Meaning of 8, but definitely a top 10er).

Yeah, I've known them for awhile. There's a "free" pile of cds at work that we're allowed to take, and one of them was Granddance. I'd never heard of it before, but the album work looked pleasant so I picked it up. Nice indie pop/rock.
My new philosophy is that a crappy tape deck somewhere plays a greatest hits collection of strange and tender moments, lost, stranded, and forgotten. I'll meet you there.
