I'd recommend "Blue Eyes" and "Ride"

We all have them. I'll start with one of my most embarassing..."Drive" by Incubus

Some others are:
Fountains of Wayne (in general)
"Poison" by Bel Biv DeVoe
"Follow Through" by Gavin DeGraw
Teddy Geiger
Mat Kearney
"Hey There Delilah" by Plain White T's
Snow Patrol
"Don't Panic" and "Fix You" by Coldplay
Bloc Party
"Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper
like two songs from The Killers
Geto Boys

There's plenty more, but I think that's a good list to start out with. Your turn!

"Sky Blue Sky"
Just started listening today, and I really like it. I just love Wilco in general. Tweedy's voice just gives me goosebumps (in a good way), but he's just not a very pretty looking person. Oh well. You can't win em all.

For the past couple of months, I have listened to this band non-stop. All of their songs are really good, and I think you all should check them out. They have their album up for download (for free) on their website.

The songs I recommend are: Treetops, Everything Is Temporary, Fearful, Ancient As The Stars No. 2, and Another Loveless Anthem. Although they are all wonderful.

Anyone heard about it? Supposedly it's to be called "Release the Stars". I've heard the first single, "Going to a Town" from it, and I really like it.
The single I have says the album will be released May 15th. I'm excited.

News / Ben's new myspace blog about John Mayer tour

"Tour with John Mayer

John Mayer has tapped Ben Folds as the primary opener for his Continuum summer tour, which kicks off June 1 in Ridgefield, Wash. Additionally, blues-rocker Rocco DeLuca, Dueltone artist Brett Dennen and British songwriter James Morrison will all spend time in the supporting slot during the 38-date trek.

Tickets for most tour dates go on sale to the public on March 24. The tour comes in support of Mayer's album "Continuum," released last year, which recently earned him two Grammy Awards for best pop vocal album and best male pop vocal performance on that album's single, "Waiting on the World to Change."

Mayer is also scheduled to perform at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on May 5.

Singer/songwriter Ben Folds will be embarking on his own headlining tour at the end of this month, beginning March 24 at Assumption College in Worchester, Mass. He recently released "Live at My Space," a DVD featuring his performance on's first live-by-request Webcast from last year."

Looks like he will only be opening...

I've mentioned him on other threads, but I'm not so sure that I've mentioned him on here. Basically, he's amazing. Go buy one of his cd's because they're all great. I just got Put Your Ghosts to Rest the other day, and I haven't stopped listening.

have fun!

Everyone should go to this sight to find out about great artists. I discovered so many great bands/artists from here; Beat Radio, Locksley, Fire Flies, etc.

It's fun. And you can download a lot of great songs at great qualities.

General Board / Mix CD Suggestions?
« on: January 15, 2007, 10:29:33 AM »
This is random, but for the past year or so, I've been really into making theme mixes (i.e. mixes that have a running theme throughout like 'Songs in Movies', or 'Happiness', etc.). However, my mind has been blank on ideas lately, and I thought to myself, 'The Suburbs would be a great place to find ideas because everyone is so smart and creative'. So, here I am, asking for suggestions on themes for forthcoming mixes.

Ideas are welcome!

News / Question...

Is there going to be another single released from SSSG, the LP? They seem to play TASCTY a lot on Sirius radio, but it's not the single, LTLWWYA is/was.

Anyone know the inside scoop here?
