Looks like it is indeed "Past Lives". It's the last song on the Deluxe edition of the album, which has 4 bonus songs.

News / Ben interviewed on CBC's Q
« on: October 24, 2012, 05:03:59 PM »
Ben was interviewed a few days ago on the CBC Radio program Q by host Jian Ghomeshi:

The best part is when Ben plays audio from his phone from the live show where Do It Anyway originated (around the 11:55 mark of the interview) where some dude in the crowd shouts "Do it anyway!".  I didn't know (or I forgot) that it came from a Rock this Bitch improv.  A youtube video also has the most of this performance though the start is cut off.

Another cool tidbit is he's working on a piano concerto and plans to tour that with an orchestra next year with time also scheduled for the next potential BFF album.  Along with the Neil Gaiman EP, I sure hope all these plans come into fruition!

Yesterday, Ben tweeted about an early Ben Folds Five feature airing on NPR's World Cafe.  If you missed it, they've thankfully uploaded it here.  They performed Underground and Alice Childress.

Here, I uploaded an mp3 of the raw audio here: Live for Pakistan.  Enjoy!

EDIT: By the way, the weird ping throughout part of the broadcast was not me, but someone in the studio's Gmail chat going off, much to the chagrin of the chatroom spectators.  Eventually they realized it and turned it off, but it does spoil some of the songs a bit.

That was lots of fun especially Great Balls of Fire where he didn't exactly know all the words and almost took out the mic halfway through the song.  The solo in Lullabye was killer!  I heard they recorded it and it should be viewable online later...

Ack, Ben played the Jeep Song?!? JEALOUS!

A mullet, mustache, and Chick-Fil-A hat: priceless!  And a Halloween Ben Folds concert is probably the only time ever you could where that without having to explain yourself.  Too funny.  What was Ben dressed as?

They played Freebird with the orchestra?? Awesome!  Was Ben in costume?  Did anyone dress as Ben?

Crap, gotta work that night-- keep a transcript!  I do have a few potential questions (or let me know if these have been answered somewhere else):

1) What was the real story with the cruise cancellation (the official e-mail sounded a little BS) and will that ever happen again?

2) What's Ben's involvement (if any) with his fan club and at what point did he realize (if at all) how much it sucked and ripped off fans during those first couple years?

on a less whiny note:

3) Do you ever run into Jack White in Nashville?  More seriously, what is it about Nashville (stereotypically associated with country music) that has brought an eclectic assortment of musicians such as yourself, White, Sheryl Crow, Kelly Clarkson, and others to settle there?  I know you and White both have your own studios there and it makes me want to vacation there someday.
