News / Ben on VH-1 Big Morning Buzz
« on: October 20, 2011, 06:40:55 AM »
I watched this show this morning, and the woman interviewing Ben was so annoying and such an airhead that I might not be able to remember everything Ben talked about. She asked him if people recognize him when he's walking down the street, and if they stop him. He said no, and he also said his fans are polite. :) He said they say hello and move on. hehe, he said some of them hide behind their friends to sneak a picture of him. They talked about The Sing Off and touched on North Shore being voted off. Ben said he really liked them, but that they were competing with other groups that had more than one lead. He said they did what they could do. He said the fact that he's getting a lot of feedback about them being voted off proves to him that they will do well despite that. The gal mentioned that Shawn Stockman was on Big Morning Buzz yesterday, and asked if there was any drama between Ben and him. Ben said "Oh, yeah, big drama". He said something like they were going out to eat and one of them wanted to go to a French restaurant and one wanted to go to a diner (maybe...not sure) But, the point was, that's the "big drama". LOL! I can't remember much else. Maybe someone else watched and can fill in the blanks. I wish that woman wasn't so distracting! GAH, I hated her! I was so distracted that I missed the buzz word, which was supposedly mentioned. If I had heard it, I could've tweeted to @Vh1 and won a signed cd. Ah, well. Ben was cute, this woman...really shouldn't be on tv.

Musical discovery / Steve Jay
« on: November 12, 2008, 06:07:15 AM »
Steve Jay is Weird Al's bassist, but he also does his own music. It's pretty hard to nail down a genre for Steve's music. It can be funky at times, make you think at others, and it's very different from anything else I've heard. I have two of Steve's cds, and I want more. Steve has been just about everywhere, and that is reflected in his music, too. So, if you want something different, give Steve's music a listen. He has a beautiful singing voice. He also has a wonderful, deep speaking voice that could melt me into a puddle in a second. Very nice guy, too.

Musical discovery / Jim "Kimo" West

Jim West plays guitar for Weird Al, but, that is not all he does. He does his own solo stuff, and it's truly beautiful music. Jim plays Hawaiian Slack Key guitar. I have three of his cds, and I love them all. He has a new Christmas cd out that I really, really want. So, if you wanna chill, and head for the islands, give Jim's music a listen.

News / Ben to play at Goodbye Yellow Brick Road 30th Anniversary Concert
« on: October 10, 2008, 12:54:49 PM »
Did anyone know about this? I just saw this posted in another forum. The gal who posted it also put in her choice of song she thought Ben should do:

On October 20 Ben and several others are doing a Goodbye Yellow Brick Road 30th Anniversary concert in NYC to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

I hope Ben does This Song Has No Title. It seems to be the track best suited for his talents.

News / Ben on I Love the 80's 3-D
« on: October 27, 2005, 08:12:48 AM »
I've been watching this series since it started, because Weird Al is on it. *you all know I love Al*. Well, I love Ben, too, and I saw him commenting during the 85 episode! He commended Phil Collins on his decision not to wear a toupeƩ. It was great!
