I came in at the end of the Postal Service cover.

What happened before?  Did Ben explain the acoustic guitar orchestra?

i heard them do a ben song while he was on the show to cut to commercials... is dave a fan?  i have army live, and he goes "a terrific band from chapel hill, ben folds five"... or is he acting?

While no one knows if Dave is a fan or not, he personally approves of all the musical acts that come on the show.

Charlie, send it to me too!

i need so many, these arent rare ones, but oh well:

studio version of Boxing
 studio of Not the Same
anything from Ben Folds Live basically
anything from Fear of Pop basically
Get Your Hands Off of My Woman
Rent a Cop

those arent rare, and i know you probably dont wanna send them, but i was just saying, those are the ones i dont have....

all the rare ones that Alex listed, i need too

Why don't you buy these?

Even if you live in some abandoned part of the world, you also have iTunes to download from.

EDIT:  Checked profile.  Go to Best Buy or somewhere and buy them.  Or have some parental figure use their credit card for iTunes and promise to pay them back.

Do whatever the hell you want.  You're way overreacting.

Ok so maybe thats your opinion so I really shouldn't say its rubbish... umm... so I won't. I'm interested that you think my singing isn't great;I used to sing in one of the most prostigious cathedral choirs in the country; I'm actually on a singing scholarship and have been advised to sing at Cambridge University.

You USED to sing in a CHILDREN's choir.  Tons of kids do that because  Your voice probably has changed since then.  I mean, you're 14.  Your voice may change in another year, or few months.

I'm going to assume that you're telling the truth, and not just trolling.  The entire song of If You Leave is very pitchy and, as someone else said, has a particularly bad note around 3 minutes.

And if you don't like not brilliant singing why on earth do you like Ben Folds/ Ben Folds Five/ Bens? - none of the singing is brilliant.

It is really interesting, because I never said I don't like "not brilliant singing" (I'd expect a supposed music demigod like yourself to put that into more proficient terms).  I'd wager that outside of the jazz I listen to, most of the musicians I listen to have little to no professional fashioning of their voice, just voccal coaches to keep their voice going gig after gig.

I listen to Folds for his lyrics, his voice (the intensity he brings to it, not technical perfection), the  music...well, everything.  He is like the songwriter for my generation.

I know you didn't ask for my advice, but here it is:

Could you explain (because I don't know anything about music theory or stuff like that) how you can hit really low notes and high notes (falsetto?)...then how can you be so pitchy in the middle?

Just go out and start learning every song you remotely like.  You're 14, so you probably don't have a lot of commitments.  Buy some musical sheet books.  If you can't find them at a music shop, your small hip locally owned one can special order them for ya.

Be fortunate, Sam, that this is such a small community where you can not post for a month or two and easily catch up on everything thats happened.  If you posted some arrogant URGENT LISTEN TO MEEEE thread on Something Awful, or really any official band site, you'd likely be banned.

And your second post in this thread was the first time I've ever used the "Report this post to a moderator" button.

1.  You think you're the shit at music.  You're 14, you aren't great at anything yet.  You've barely lived.
2.  Your songs aren't that great.  The singing has that "just off pitch enough to be indie" vibe to it that I generally don't like, and the songs are so mellow.

Also, as far as anything involving vocals, be it a play, musical, public speaking, etc...PROJECT YOUR VOICE.  It isn't yelling, its projecting your voice by using...I dunno, your stomach an shit.  Its something you definately don't do in your tracks.

Also, ah, songs are so slow.  Breathe some life into them.
3.  Seriously, take a break from the Internet.  If one negative review hurts you thats a sentence long, what are you gonna do if someone reviews a concert you have and they slam?  Cry or something?

I'm trying to tag my mp3s correctly.  If someone could post the setlist in order of this show, and Deano's previous recorded show, Warwick 2005 (28 files in that one, if it helps).  Thanks.

General Board / Help me WASO mp3s
« on: March 10, 2006, 08:23:23 AM »
Okay, so I have two sets of WASO mp3s.  One is 192, but Evaporated cuts off at the end!  The other is 128, and Evaporated is full.

So if anyone could help me on obtaining the 192 full version of Evaporated, it'd be awesome.

AIM is hanginonaword.  e-mail is

can someone put this up on YouSendIt or something? pweeeaaaase??? ;D :P

Download bit torrent instead.  Its easier for everyone because you can get the show yourself and then seed some more so other people can get it.

Not to mention YSI limit is something like 500 mb or something, this video is 3 gig.
