I suppose I don't really have all that much detail to add. Just like to say that Purple Haze on the piano was about as groovy as it gets, and I could wet my pants when he started to play Silver Street (which was GRRREEEAAATT!!!)...especially since he mentioned us internet folk. I don't remember why he brought that up either, but I have my notes here...
He was talking about the Best Imitation story (how it came to be) and old songs that never made it, so I think that's where Silver Street came in.
And I'm surprised I didn't turn into a raging bitch when the lesbian couple stole my setlist and proceeded to FOLD it and then one of 'em PUT IT IN HER POCKET. *cries*
By the way, I'd been there for 6 hours waiting (first in line!!!!!), and they'd been in line for maybe 2 hours. Somehow, they bulled their way in front of grey, who was standing right next to me when we went in. And of course, in those 6 hours I was waiting for the show, I talked to Joe, who said the setlist was MINE. And I DID tell everyone around me this, but apparently the setlist theives didn't believe me (or more likely, didn't know who Joe was...). I also didn't appreciate the dirty looks they kept giving me during the show when I was singing the harmonies. The harmonies that Ben very often would turn and say "nice job" to me about. *smug look*
Now, since I'm not in chronological order, I guess I'll say who McChicken girl was. She came to buy her tickets around 2:30pm, and was about to leave when we (me and my cute and nice "friend" Shane) started talking to her, and talked her into going ten blocks to buy us some McChicken sandwiches, since we were afraid to leave our spot. She said she'd come around 7 to give 'em to us, so we ended up having the pub next to the venue make us pizza while we waited, but it was cool, because she DID come at 7, and gave us some fries for free! (go alyssa!)
Of course, before the show, some long-haired dude that works for the Crystal Ballroom started harrassing me an' Shane about how pathetic it was to be waiting for 6 hours, and how much Ben Folds sucks. Then he started saying how much Shane looked like Ben Folds, which I suppose is true...although I don't have any pictures for you guys yet. sorry!
Hmm what else. Oh! It was embarrassing, actually...but Ben tried to teach everyone the "do do do" harmonies to BOWCCL, and the first try, everyone did horribly, so he stopped us and had to teach it again.
That's all for me, I guess...just may I add that I got grounded for getting home at 2:30am that night cuz I waited for Ben after the show? And even though I didn't get a pic with him, it was worth it!
