I guess that wasn't taken well... lol

I love the funny songs next to ben folds my favorite band is reel big fish! I'm hardly miss serious I just wanted more songs! It is an unreasonable wish i understand but i just wish i could have that album and a few songs like evaporate and even fair!

For those who are so mad about me asking for a few serious songs you are certainly taking my little comment quite seriously!

Lets take a note from the fake frown song and just all get along!

Just thought I'd re-plant that seed! Because I know some rather influential people read this site from time to time and I wanted to remind them that many of us would pay mucho denairo (sorry for spelling...i took french in high school) to be able to watch that concert on our tv screens over and over again!

I don't think the album is as bad as danward does but I sort of understand where he is coming from.  I think musically the record is brilliant but ben didn't seem to put too much stock in the lyrics. I love the fact that ben doesn't take much seriously and throws quirky rediculousness  (for lack of a better word) in his songs. (like the "mother f*cker" at the end of Fired.) I even like his songs that are 100% funny like Steven's Last Night in Town but the problem is that there is usually a balance of funny songs and songs that are crafted a little more lyrically. To me, I feel like this was an entire album of Rent a Cop with Kylie from Connecticut thrown in at the end.

But I've always been on the other side of the fence from most of the other ben fans...Songs for Silverman is my favorite album!

I would suggest a good water based lubricant to ease anyone into anyone else, especially if it's for the first time.

that just made my day!

Bens itunes originals is a pretty kickass collection of his work plus Kylie from Connecticut and like....effington or the bitch went nuts!

Yeah dude, I think the concept is fairly light-hearted...I mean he wanted to have a chinese like kungfu master read an intro to the song.

2 photos were just added to ben's myspace.  one of him and the other saying that Hiroshima is the single.

tell me this... why on earth is Hiroshima the single?  You Don't Know Me, Ben.  You Don't Know Me, ftw.  that one has far greater potential for commercial success, imo.

Sometimes I feel ben takes a really funny song and gets so into it it accidentally starts to be taken seriously

I'm hoping that it's not quite the finished version, lyrically, but if it is I still will play it as loudly as I do now..  \m/

Do you guys remember how bad the lyrics were to army in the spare reels section of the sessions dvd when he was recording it in the studio?
He called that song "completed" and as we all know it was much improved on messner!

Hopefully its the same thing here.
ps. I really love the ending too!  \m/

I love the diapers lyrics my only problem with the whole song is "4..3...2....1.. Im letting you go/ I will let go if you will let go" if they just change this one redundent line it'd be my favorite leaked song. Maybe they meant finished as finally had a semi clean recording?
