Tour Board / Re: 2015 Tour Dates

Glasgow August 14. Hopefully more UK dates TBA!

2
Random trivia - the orchestra at this date was the same one that Minchin toured with (and is on his DVD).

Probably a mix of that, and the London date is with the Heritage Orchestra, who are probably a bit more set up for this sort of thing than the Royal Northern Sinfonia that are doing the rest of the tour (also explains the Northern bias to the dates).

Yeah shouldn't be a problem selling them.

Have to admit I'm confused why the London date is so cheap - £30 so less than the other tour dates, and significantly less than the Ben Folds Five Brixton date (which was nearly £50 if I remember rightly).

Okay, there's also a London date, which they didn't bother to announce! http://www.barbican.org.uk/music/event-detail.asp?ID=16067

Of course, I only discovered that after getting Bristol tickets, so if anyone wants second row tickets to the Bristol show at face value, let me know...

Boothby something. Really funny British guy. I remember his setlist off the top of my head so I guess I'll post it as well.

1. I Saw Jesus In My Corn Flakes, What Did He Drink Last Night?
2. I Saw Muhammed In My Corn Flakes, What's The Deal With That?
3. Baseball Playing Spider

Boothby Graffoe. Albums available here: http://m04606.wix.com/theboothbygraffoe#!music/c10tw

Those first two song titles could be anything, I've seen him introduce a few songs that way... Random video for anyone interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nn4g6RD1sNU

Plus special guest Boothby Graffoe. You guys have no idea how exciting that is, but trust me it is. Go Google him. He's amazing. Anyone who has a song called "I saw Jesus' face in my cornflakes this morning, what the hell was he drinking last night?" is good with me....

Good show indeed, odd they finished early though, I'd gone to the back before the encore as needed to get away quick and figured I'd miss the last song but nope!

Also after seeing them in Birmingham Academy the night before, it highlighted what I'd always suspected about the difference between these modern, purpose-built venues and old halls like Brixton. The sound was 10x better in Birmingham. You don't notice after a few minutes anyway but it was quite surprising.

Still: MAGIC!

That was a bit good.

They played for about 2hr10 (none of those strict 11pm curfews in Birminghmm)!

Set list, from memory and from looking at other gigs:

Michael Praytor, Five Years Later
Missing The War
Hold That Thought
Jackson Cannery
Rock This Bitch in Birminghmm
Selfless, Cold And Composed
Alice Childress
Sky High
Landed
Erase Me
Uncle Walter
Draw A Crowd
Thank You For Breaking My Heart
Brick
Battle Of Who Could Care Less
Do It Anyway
Philosophy
Narcolepsy
Evaporated
Underground
Kate
_____________

Song For The Dumped
One Angry Dwarf
Army

Rock this bitch was in a country style (and revolved around not saying the A in Birminghmm), Ben screwed up the lyrics to Do It Anyway and so played that bit separately afterwards and told us a story about Elvis.

I think it was the first time they'd played Evaporated since the reunion (am sure Allison will correct me) as Ben had to go over to Robert and Darren and ask them both if they remembered it first.

It'll be a 11pm finish I imagine. But they're playing 2 hour sets so even leaving half an hour before the end wouldn't be the end of the world.

Surely we can compromise here. We've all already purchased at pledgemusic.com or elsewhere. How about some lyrics at least?  ;D

I know that's said in jest but to be honest I find it pretty bloody annoying when artists ask people for money in advance to fund their new album, then send out review copies to people that didn't before the people that made it possible.

Oh nice, you can only download once so if your connection screws up in the middle of it you're f*cked.

No, I was able to use the link in my email & redownload the tracks that were incomplete.

Nope, it let me re-download most of them, but the three it was in the middle of it won't allow me. So now I'm missing All Shook Up, Cologne Piano Orchestra (no biggie, it's on the Seeds album) and Evaporated 1992 demo.

Have tried e-mail support as interestingly it hasn't cropped up in any of the usual dodgy places yet...

Still, a huge WTF? What, are they worried if I download them more than once I might have more than one copy? They're to be applauded for making them DRM free but to not at least a download time window or something... I mean not even porn sites do the 'one download is all you get' approach. Not that I'd know.
