Oh my god I just realized that the lyrics in The Ultimate Sacrifice are "Here I sit, broken hearted/Came to shit, but only farted."  I had absolutely no idea what Ben was saying in that second line.  So goofy.

The only Ben Folds Five song my fiancee knew before I met her was "Leather Jacket" because her brother had the Kosovo refugee compilation back in the day. And she had never heard "Brick." Does anyone else find this extremely inexplicable and awesome??

that's kind of refreshing. and i've met a few people that seemed to miss it in the 90s

When I first got into Ben Folds Five (about 3 years ago) I really didn't like Brick. Partially because I never really knew what it was about, and seemed too different to everything else on my WAEA cd. I was genuinley like, "why would they play something like this when they can just thrash out Kate, Pyser, Fair and OAD. Then again, I really loved Cigarette....oh gawd teenage years. Only 1.5 months left of it haha

haha yeah one of my all time favorites is Evaporated. But yeah, Brick is a polarizing song. And I find that I don't really listen to it on CD - but live it's pretty great on the bf5 tour
