Tour Board / Re: Did anybody ask about the future of the five?

They said something in the past about it being open when the timing works out for everyone. Darren released a record as Hotel Lights in April, and is touring with another indie rock band currently. Folds has eluded to more work with yMusic, so who knows?! There's also apparently a whole next record "ready" that has Ryan and Sam on it, that they recorded pre-So There (and Phone in a Pool was stolen off of).

soooooooo, your guess is as good as mine.

So I was super wrong. All my guesses were on That Would Be Enough (or other Eliza tracks).

Thrilled that Regina is basically Burr and Ben is Hamilton on Dear Theodosia. The song itself is getting great reactions, as is the whole Mixtape. Also loving the love Lin is throwing Ben's way.

I may be being a snob (okay, am), but I was a bit bummed when the bonus tracks from the 10" ended up on Spotify the next week. I've got to remind myself that it was limited to 2,000 in its run. Hope everyone picked up a copy. A burbian (though through social media only, I think) took the photo on the cover, so I'm feeling all sorts of proud about it.

General Board / Re: What Song Did You Write in Your Paper Airplane?

I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed to go to a Paper Airplane show. Closest one has come to me is 8.5 hours. :'(

Also my preplanned airplanes include:
- Sports & Wine
- Password (though that'd be hard to pull off, but whatever)
- Away When You Were Here
- On Being Frank
- House
- Bruised

These are selected because they are the studio proper album tracks I've never seen.

I'd love to see other things like:
- Kalamazoo
- Adelaide
- Rent-a-Cop
- Make Me Mommy
- Girl

Because, again, we have studio recordings, but I've never seen them live. Everything else is checked off my list.

This is what I get for assuming everyone follows us on Facebook (I'm so much better at keeping that updated than this)

Its everything we are playing on tour, yeah, the best of what weve played on this tour. Some of it is this album, but a lot of it is older stuff and all kind of stuff. It was six months of touring or something like that and weve gone through it all now so you can imagine I dont want my kids having to listen to the same song over and over again. Oh, that one messed up! Oh, messed up there too. Weve almost got it together. Its going to be a 10-inch record. Its just a fun record to put together. Those are harder though because there is a lot of stuff that can go on it. Sonically it sounds pretty damn good.  NOV.

I think it's linked to the live album they're planning for November. Probably an attempt to get the best cuts.

No, but an email/text would be a first, and I'd probably be dead. :P And it hasn't surfaced anywhere. I'm sort of grateful. Perhaps tomorrow I'll do a TBT for it and poke him for it.

Theories on which song?

Now that we know Regina and Ben are on the same track - and there's no rapping, it's got to be an Eliza song

Met Ben after this gig. Only 5 of us were waiting after the show behind the gate. They all piled into a 16 passenger van. Made it to the end of the alley way and turned around.  ;D ;D  Got to talk a long while.  ;D ;D ;D then Ben asks me if we want to take our annual selfie (What? Plus, if you know me on social media, I'm like 0 selfies girl) so sure I guess and I pass my phone off to the couple I had befriended while waiting. NO. That Ben Folds we know and love takes the damn selfie on his phone? I tried not to die. I suppose I didn't. Here's the photo of the photo from my phone. Also after all this time look at how much space I am giving him.

WELP. I am known to like a personal bubble.

5. Effington
6. I'm Not the Man

General Board / Re: Best Concerts You've Ever Been To

Prince's death yesterday reminded me that there may have been a thread on this topic here from years ago.  Make that YEARS AGO.

While his 1984 show may no longer make my top 5, it's still easily top 10.

As I was reflecting on his passing, I realized that in a 6 week window in the fall of 1984, I saw Prince at the height of the Purple Rain era and Springsteen at the height of the Born in the USA madness.  In retrospect, that was a pretty good fall.

I was wondering why this resurfaced or if it was because of:

That being said I keep a top 10 list on my fb profile so one quick copy and paste....

Top 10 Shows of my life are probably;
2008.09.18 - Ben Folds Five in Chapel Hill, NC
2011.11.18 - The Avett Brothers in Milwaukee, WI
2015.05.15 - Ben Folds and yMusic in Chicago, IL
2016.03.05 - Jason Isbell in St Augustine, FL
2008.08.14 - Bon Iver in Milwaukee, WI
2015.02.13 - Kevin Devine in Orlando, FL
2012.06.08 - Jukebox the Ghost at Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN
2012.06.15 - The Old Ceremony in Chicago, IL
2012.03.07 - The Avett Brothers in Iowa City, IA
2010.10.10 - Sufjan Stevens in Chicago, IL
2012.08.22 - Dawes in Madison, WI
